The video is now available here:
Thankyou, Leaving. I missed this the first time around.
My head was spinning after watching this. The converstation sounded somewhere between the tea party from Alice in Wonderland and the Black Knight from Monty Python's Holy Grail.
When it comes to how long the creative days of Genesis were, she (Georgia Purdom) states a standard method of Biblical interpretation: Compare how the word is used in the same context elsewhere and what was meant by that usage.
But when he (Michael Shermer) later raises the question of whether she can be absolutely sure that her interpretation is correct, she doesn't defend the method, (Which certainly is defensible) she denies the whole idea and claims that they aren't interpreting at all.
Well if Biblical "Interpretation" is not some method of determining that which is not specifically stated, then what is it?

Yep. All Christian religions/faiths/denominations are based upon a unique interpretation of Scripture. The Bible is not a detailed book of Theology.
Thanks Leavingwt - interesting
