Does anyone know anything about the GB member Guy Pierce?
What is his background?
What sort of personality does he have?
A recent thread here at JWN contains a link to a talk he gave where he condems college and "higher education" going so far as to say that Witnesses who did attend college "repented"after they graduated when they applied what they learned to serving the Watchtower.
I havent heard much about Bro Pierce. Thats a good question. I read things about the other GB members but not him. Mystery man perhaps?

One thing i realized from re- reading COC, is that no matter how nice, meek or humble some of those guys may be, they still did the GB dirty work.

Very true. I hear that John Barr was the grandpa type, but he was still an enabler, a pawn, a tool just like you said, etc.
The cold, hard, fact is that they KNOW things, but they keep allowing it to happen, using scriptures to justify what they do.
Pity...pity. (For the seven million clueless dubbers of course).
I think all of them believe in what they are doing. It's just that they put the organisation first all the time.
I don't bite that lure. The GB members are the top of the JW leadership. They SURELY KNOW about the WTS money, about the falseness of the Scriptures, about the falseness of the WTS teachings. They know, like the Pope knows, that everything is a lie. But they don't speak because they are the ones who have everything to gain and everything to lose. The answer is beyond this question: Who are the sons and daughters of the GB members and what are their ocupations and fortunes? And then the crap will hit the fan like never before.
That's what I would do if I had a stream of money flowing from the WTS secret accounts into mine. I'd put everything on the names of my offspring and my wife and I could pretend we are poor like Jesus. I'd also invent a front family-company...window-washing, car-rentals, insurance franchise, etc...to justify the family wellfare. If someone asks "Why do you have 10 million bucks in a Swiss-account?", I'd say "Well, my sons own a small family-business: they washed a lot of windows in the past years".
Dag- the beauty of corporations is the entity picks up the tab for all sorts of stuff...
I would almost bet my nuts that when Armstrongs church did its historic reverse and apology that the entire GB wondered about themselves doing the same, knowing they should and being to damn dirty to actually man up.

Do witneses honestly think that the GB (excuse me, the faithful and discreet slave) would really care about them if they knew the great tribulation was breaking out, lord behold, if they got some type of sign from heavens, if Jehovah or Jesus came to them in a dream and said that the big A was coming soon? They'd just be worried about saving their own asses! They wouldnt give a fuck, and its as simple as that. It kinda make me think of the last scene in 'Gone with the wind' (I love old movies!) Just as simple as that. Of course, they tour around the country and world, going to different assembly halls and arenas, stadiums, where ever, cause they have to put up a front like they do care, quoting their scriptures to justify their 'authority', but all they care about is getting their free rides, free dinners, free hotels, free everything, and their tax exemptions. And of course, the rank and file takes it, line hook and sinker, with a spiritual rub on the belly, and a pat on the head.
