so I took Mr & Mrs Flippers advice from a previous thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/141197/1.ashx) and signed up for EHarmony.com..seeing as it worked so well for them..... I signed up for a year...not because I am a pessimist, but a realist. It could take that long or longer...and it was only $20 month instead of $35 for signing up for a year vs month to month.
anyone else here use EHarmony?
One thing I found interesting was that there was a check box under the profile section for religion for Jehovah's Witnesses Now, if JWs are not supposed to be on the online dating sites, why is there a specific category for JWs? Because there must be a hell of a lot of them on EHarmony and EH.com realized that.
Needless to say, I did not check that box, just chose "Christian and prefer not to specify"...why scare off some nice girl because I am (soon not to be) part of a cult...the picture probably is doing a good enough job of scaring them off. what do you think...good idea or bad idea about the religious preference? Is it being dishonest?
I have not used the FastTrack button (to bypass all of the Guided communication steps),, but I am wondering if I should, since I keep getting matches closed after the first set of questions. There really is no way (except on a couple of questions) in the early stages as EH has it set up to customize your replies.
Also, photos...I probably need to put up a more casual photo right now....but havent had the time. I have closed a couple of matches sent to me based on photos alone. Does that make me shallow? I am sorry if it does...but if it doesnt click, it doesnt click. I have went ahead and started the communications without a photo but requested they show one.....I am a very visual person but not shallow...I dont have to have a supermodel...just someone who takes care of themselves.
any suggestions ....and I am going to take some advice from the prior thread and just go put myself in some social situations (non JW) and just get out there. Thanks for past advice from some of you........as I continue my journey out of the cult of dubland and into the real world....I am ready for whatever it throws at me.
