Well, it's Memorial Season and Mom has been giving me the "look" this past week ever since she has decided to pioneer for February and March.

Anyways, the thing is I plan on buying a new car in the next couple months. Well, I know how my mom operates. Its tit for tat with her. I give a little and she'll give a lot. So if I want to purchase the car all on my own I can and most likely with the money I have it'll be another potatoe bucket or I can be the Brooklyn slave that she thinks I am, suffer for a month of street witnessing and early morning and most likely she'll talk her dad into helping me out in buying the car I actually want (I don't know which one yet but it'll have AC and a CD player in it this time )

Am I wrong? Oh, how I envy those who are already out!!!

but what would be good is when you go out - make sure you pad out your hours - loads of McDonalds breaks and all that good stuff - and make sure you add a least 8 return visits to your figures - that will makes us all proud of you

Man! I am so sorry! You have my condolences!

There will be no judging here! I understand what it is like to be young and still not be financially free from your parents. It's like you're damned if you do, and you're really damned if you don't! I didn't ever go quite as far as sign up to pioneer (well ... I did when I was a teenager), but I made myself do other things that I didn't want to do. I knew where my bread was buttered for the time being.

Do you have a plan to get on your own financially where you don't have to feel blackmailed?

Not to be critical - but I would not do it. I would find it a violation of what I know now to be wrong.

I would hate the possiblility that I might actually help someone to convert. Or that I might encourage the witnesses in thier work.

But that is just me - no condemnation intended here.

Stilla: I think it is spiritual prostitution. But so what! Go for it.

Do you have the option of letter writing or calling random numbers? if you have a job or go to school, you could count your time and tell people you talk to co-workers or other students. Take doors by yourself and don't even make it about the JW thing, just show people a scripture from the bible and tell them to have a nice day.

    Same here.

Can you count your time on JWD? Technically, you are giving us a witness, just not one the WTS would like.

    Good luck!
