    Okay,

I have been associated with Jw's since birth. I raised my kids in the religion....thinking it was the only way. Recently, my daughter (who was baptized at 15 she is 24 now and has since stopped attending meetings, has been in a relationsip with a man and now has a newborn baby) was invited to a witness wedding and subsequently uninvited b/c she could possibly stumble the JW's who would be attending, since she has had a baby with a non witness and is not married.

I was righteously indignant, b/c why invite someone who you know is not practising the religion, even if you love them? and what is the man of the house to think? He said he has never heard of such cruelty.

My neice who is the witness, said the brothers counceled her that having a non practising witness who was a baptized publisher who is not in good standing would put all the other people in jeopardy.

I am so sick of this

Not sure why she hasn't been DF'd under the circumstances but whatever. When it comes to being small, petty and unkind the JW's take first place. I guess Mary would not be welcome either since she had a child out of wedlock. He who is without sin...

I hear you. She should have decided whether to invite before having to uninvite.
Besides venting, there's not much you can do. She'll stand by the fact that
it wasn't her, but the elders insisted it would be bad.

Family is family. JW's don't easily recognize that.

    Welcome, jeanne40love. You said,

I am so sick of this

That's why most of us are here. We were/are sick of the cruel, judgmental attitude that characterizes the JW religion. It's all about appearance, so very pharisaical and so very sad.

I wish they would follow their own advise.

Welcome! I see that you are sick of it. . .and I sure can understand why. Are you still active in the religion? Are you baptised and/or fading? Take care, and congratulations on your grandchild!

    Hi jeanne40love, WELCOME to JWD!

I know of several similar situations. It's sad but that's the way it is with the JWs. And they can't make up their own mind on these things either. They must get a ruling from the elders.

They couldn't have been more mean but they create a bad impression among non JWs by behaving in that way. They really think they are pure these JWs and everyone else is substandard. They are so immature.

Invite or don't invite. Don't invite and then uninvite. That's just rude.
