My main regret? I'm still a virgin.

I wrote yesterday that I feel very little regret despite 34 years "in the truth".

There is one thing I regret mightily though. I am 34 years old and I miraculously avoided fornication my entire life (so far).

Anyone else leave "the truth" as a virgin? Anyone go on a delicious spree of promiscuity after you left?

Man I don't even know how to approach the idea of dating someone who's not a JW. I need some time to come up with a good plan I think.

    Sigh.

P.S. Technically I am still one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I haven't taken an open stand with the congregation or my family yet. But I no longer believe it's "the truth"

I was a virgin up until I met my wife in 1994. I left the JW's in 1993, and found her, and the rest is history.

Well you might want to check out attending some apostafests, there are some single women that attend these events.

You shouldn't worry too much about what you missed, chastity also has its good points so ultimately it wasn't a dead loss as you consider it to be.

True. With no sex, no drugs and no blood transfusions, I'm pretty sure I don't have any STD's or blood-borne viruses. :)

Gotta look on the bright side eh?

I was a virgin until about a year after I DA ed.I was almost 25.

Once I did the deed I had a lot of time to make up for.So I was all over the place for a while.I've calmed down as I got older and am way more selective now then I used to be.

You and I most certainly have different viewpoints here, but you don't have to view it as a regret.

Im still a virgin as well and I view it as a good thing, even though i'm a bit younger than you. It's kinda like you said, this has allowed you the comfort of not worrying about certain diseases and viruses.

I was engaged to get married up until 2 months ago and now on the verge of leaving the JW religion, and it was pretty difficult to remain a virgin. It still is right with even more temptation out there now. I do hope though that I still am a virgin on the day I get married, if I ever come accross the right person.

So in my opinion, you no have reason to regret anything. You're still fairly young. I think the common theme running today is that you're a loser if you haven't done the deed by a certain age.

You could seek professional help for that problem.

I'm not talking a backstreet crack ho, I'm talking a gorgeous clean professional escort who knows how to get tab "A" into slot "B". Over and over again.

On the other hand, you could hold out for a spinster pioneer who is more afraid and uninformed than you are.

It's just a thought. It depends upon where your heads are at. Just be assured that either way, your actions are not going to impress or offend any invisible sky-daddy.

You were cheated of a normal life experience. Would you rather learn to drive in the supermarket parking lot or at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving?

Orgull, no need for regrets; you should be proud of yourself.

    R. F., you said:

You will come across the right person, and happy will she be!!!

A virgin - to be or not to be???

Why so much focus on being a virgin or not a virgin. I personally would not want to be a virgin on my wedding night, I definetly would not want to marry a virgin.

But if being a virgin is what you choose personally then who cares but you? By the same token if a person chooses not be a virgin who cares but that person?

Why does sex have to be so damn taboo?
