Booted! On the ship! Kicked off! Df'd!
by teejay inover at kent's cozy discussion forum, at http://kent.steinhaug.com/forum/showthread.php3?s=576c225fa464b8a850eaf84a8f511cad&threadid=62, redhorsewoman started a thread wherein she wanted comments about an old highschool classmate (also a jw) that she recently met again.. responding to her post, i said.
too late for your situation, but i'd treat her as i've come to treat my jw family: leave religion, the truth, jehovah (and the rest of that jw baggage) out of all conversations... unless they bring it up.
and even then, don't expect much.

not since Harding
by teejay inin a recent magazine article, the author follows a long line of others by arriving at the same conclusion whenever the subject is breeched.
he said that current u.s. president george walker bush was "the most manifestly ill-qualified candidate thrown up by a major party since warren harding.".
while i must admit that i know little of president harding, in my lifetime no president (or candidate) prior to gwbush was ever as under-qualified for the office.

Run, Sir Clark, Run...
by teejay inif he runs, he will be the most qualified of all those who now aspire to the office in 2004. if he runs, general wesley k. clark (ret.
) will be the second most qualified person to ever seek the presidency of the u.s. over the past 100 years, second only to the great william jefferson cliinton.
what follows are excerpts from an article about him in a recent esquire magazine.. he is a remarkable man with an unassailable integrity -- the kind of man that has all the little bushites shaking in their boots.

by teejay inginny, you said, .
i understand the thinking, i guess, it's just that i was never (am not) that way.
if i am a laughingstock, it is only because i believed the way you presented yourself.

my take...
by teejay in... on the watchtower society.
i am not one who will ever bother to waste my time heaping praise on the jw religion as though it were some kind of improvement on society.
i have no qualms in saying that it was, is, and always will be a dangerous religion ?

not my enemy
by teejay infollowing on the heels of what bowen said about ray, i began to see a statement that real soon began to get under my skin.
i've read it several times since and i hafta say: that little irritant is beginning to fester more than i care for.
the statement was something in the neighborhood of, "let's not get side-tracked with this franz / bowen fiasco and remember who our real enemy is... the watchtower society!".

A question of race
by teejay insince i was a believer from the earliest of my memories, i spent my formative academic years not thinking or caring much about my future.
although 1975 (armageddon / the end of the world / jehovah's judgment) was still a year away, as a naive, dumbass teenager it was looming very large on my radar screen.
besides *that*, my best jw buddy got baptized in february of that year.
