Taking control of my life....this is what i'm gonna do.
by R.F. inas many of you may know, i'm currently an ms and pioneer, and been missing meetings consistently for almost 2 months.
i have been concerned about my dad's reaction to me wanting to leave the org and he's been questioning me about missing meetings.
well i've decided now not to jump through the elders' hoops anymore.

Fantastic opportunities for advanced education on line
by restrangled inlsu, california state,, eastern and western illinois among others offer fantastic classes.
harvard even offers a doctorate degree on line, although you will have to attend for a short time on campus.
several members of my family are finishing up degrees or advancing them through clep tests or on line classes through these sites, with testing done at local colleges or homework sent through the mail at minimal cost compared even to your local jr. college.

A question about time...
by AlphaOmega in...sort of.... there was a thread a few days ago that touched on the subject of time being relative to the observer.. i wondered, does the jwd clock that records the time that we make a post actually post the same time to everyone.. .
i know that it can't get it's time from my pc clock as i see posts at say 8:55pm yet my pc clock says 8:53pm.. so.... what time (according to you) did i make this post ?.
i make it ... 20:46. .

Iranian Women "Honored" on Thursday !
by Rabbit inhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070704/wl_nm/iran_khamenei_women_dc_1;_ylt=akt2uvvuc93za2taib9xdnn0wnwv.
don't "play" with islamic law, iranian women told 43 minutes ago .
activists should not try to change islamic laws relating to women's rights, iran's supreme leader said on wednesday, two days after one campaigner was reportedly sentenced to 34 months in jail and ten lashes.. ayatollah ali khamenei, also lambasted the west for using women as a tool to advertise products, make money and to satisfy "disorderly and unlawful sexual needs," state television said.. he was addressing a group of women, most dressed conservatively in head-to-toe black chadors, in tehran ahead of thursday's anniversary of the birth of prophet mohammad's daughter, fatima, when iran honors mothers and women.. campaigners say iranian women face difficulties in getting a divorce and criticize inheritance laws they say are unjust and the fact their court testimony is worth half that of a man's.. the islamic republic rejects allegations it is discriminating against women, saying it follows sharia law.. "we are witnessing in our country that some women activists and some men are trying to play with islamic laws ... in order to harmonize them with international conventions related to women," khamenei said.

Fight the Power!!!
by Paddington Bear ini have been fighting a df'ing for quite a while now using the data protection act (uk law) for some months now with some limited success.
mainly because i do not want to give the bas%a&ds the satisfaction of getting rid of me on their terms and telling my family what they can and can't do (some still jw's).
does anyone have any experience in this or tried a similar tactic with them?

What do you think the JWs will be doing on the 4th of July?
by Blindbutnowisee intomorrow i plan on sleeping in late and then go to a cookout.
during a day where it seems that most people will be in the yards cooking on the grill, i wonder if more jws will go out in service; and if offered a hotdog will they accept it?.

Was Jesus a Buddist?
by Illyrian ini started investigating this issue a few months back after seeing a documentary that intrigued me.
some of you may disagree with my findings and that is ok, but hopefully we can have a constructive discussion and hear both sides of the arguments.
i personally was deeply impressed, to say the least, by the apparent cogency and deep correlations of evidentiary materials that survived to this day, which supports this thesis.. there is so much more that can be or should be said here but i will try to keep this text as short as possible so as to keep people interested enough to read it.. buddhism appeared some 500 years before jesus arrival.
