Might be off topic a bit, my apologies, I am wondering about the use of the word 'order'. I don't remember hearing this used in reference to jw's. Reminds me of the Catholic hierarchy & many different 'orders'. What do r & f think of this?

Ever-changing teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses - probably the most comprehensive compendium about Watchtower doctrinal changes
by WTS Archive intwo days ago a new book was released for download, called "ever-changing teachings of jehovah's witnesses".
it was originally written by a polish jw scholar (who never was a jw himself) włodzimierz bednarski, with a help from szymon matusiak, who was a jw and an elder, and is a result of years of labourious work to compile quotes regarding every single doctrine the book describes.
it covers the most important changes in years 1879—2015.

Thank you! WTS Archive has quite a few things I would like to check out when my jw is not around.

Do not waste your time writing letters to the Governing Body. (My story)
by Iamallcool inyears ago, my first job was at the copy center just like kinkos (now fed ex) there was ex jw family that i have met in the kh, but they did not attend the meetings regularly, just rarely probably just for social reasons, i guess.
one of the unbaptized family members worked with me at the copy center.
he tried to get me to read an apostate book, i refused to read one word of it, then one day he decided to copy the book by writing on many pieces of paper, what did i do?

This non jw has in fact written to NY and I can tell you that there were results. I was having a few issues with some of the local jw's and the elders had to take care of the problem. Went around the k-hell like wildfire I heard.
Write the letters, even if it you get no response at least you will feel better. I suggest sending a copy of the letter to a journalist as well. If we keep asking the press to cover the story eventually they do. Not like Scientology but why not? why shouldn't the wt be held to task as well? one day.......

You need this letter to be published for the public to see and to have them see that the wt will not answer your questions. Perhaps the religious page of your paper? or send to other media outlets? Reddit? (don't go there myself but...) yahoo questions?

RC Was Worse Than I thought...
by JW_Rogue ini was visiting with my family and it seems the rc was worse than i thought.
now they all seem to think that "we are so close to the end" and that the "brothers are really preparing us for the gt".
some even saying that soon our message will change to a judgement message for mankind and talking about how we need to improve "everything we do".

Would the harshest of messages have been on the second day of the rc? (Sat.) my jw came home in the most horrid mood.

jw's memories are only as long as the latest issue of wt's. Do jw's even remember why this was a big deal? -

Oh great, sounds like my jw will be extra dubby after this one, blah. Their favorite topic being the end is here! how I hate this evil org. 3 days of this drivel? or will it move on more cheery things? Step right up in an orderly fashion for a nice refreshing glass of kool-aid. -

She displayed a literature cart in front of my house: That does it for me!
by Tempest in a Teacup inis this something they've asked them to do?
cart displays in front of their homes?
my mom is only in her mid 60s so i'm quite sure this is not an issue of mental illness.. the only illness she's suffering from is boredom since she's refused to work for years now.

Take a late night walk and put some anti jw literature in your neighbors paperboxes (not mailbox, that is illegal). Print them out from jwfacts.com or find elsewhere. They won't know who put them there but will have some ammunition when mom comes calling again. At least she won't be able to con anybody into joining up. All they see is a sweet older lady, they have no idea the dangers of this cult. Apparently neither does she, same with my jw, sigh.
I know this may seem extreme but it does work to get them (your jw) to stop, at least in your immediate area so you can become friendly with the neighbors and have a normal neighborly relationship without them worrying you and/or mom will be preaching at them. People will assume you and she are involved with the same 'church'. I know, I know it is a kh but non jw's don't know, care or understand why it isn't a 'church'. Heck, they still don't know what to call them! "the jehovah's are at the door again, quick pull the curtains!"
Or, get tough and tell mom in no uncertain terms that the jw stuff must stop or she will have to move on. I know, it is easier said than done. Maybe she needs some chores? she is not too old to mow the lawn, clean, etc... (?) just throwing stuff out there.........

When you were little it was her house and her rules, now the roles have reversed and it is your house and your rules. In fact, a rule of no jw literature lying around the house could be helpful as well. What she does in her room is her business but the rest of the house should be a neutral zone. If she insists on leaving jw crap all around the house perhaps it is time for you to leave around the C of C book, 'Reaching jw's in Love' book, Steve Hassan's (sp?) books, printouts from the ARC and so on.
I realize it is mom and all but you still have rights in your home when you are footing the bill.
Tell her no preaching to immediate neighbors either or she will have to find other accommodations. Maybe someone from the kh will take her in (unlikely).
