  When I posted that Encyclopedia Britannica was going to stop printing I was thinking about the Watctower CORPORATION going the same route ... funny how they apply Rev. 18:11 to "OTHER" religions not realizing they are in the same boat --- well the corporation knows the regular JWs doesn't

  I think of all the vendors/suppliers that will weep and mourn over the loss of this giant client of them - they will start buying less and less of everything until eventually they dry down as foretold in the bible ... (not just for the WTC but for the whole system making money out the Word of God)

  This is the very magazine my mother produced during her humourless conversation with me about one year later in 1969 telling me that neither she nor my father would support my application to go to a tertiary institution to train as a journalist because we'd be in the new system well before I'd ever get to use that training.

  Hey scott77 nice thought! Actually as the decades passed my parents - who are both now deceased - softened the severity of their dedication to the organization. They never left it but on the side they continued to be very supportive of me. I could never have reminded them of the warnings they gave my siblings and I about the satanic world because they did feel bad already about some of the things they stopped us from doing. My siblings and I count ourselves extremely lucky that our JW parents were very loving and respectful to each of their children - I've a hunch they were both by nature very loving people who saw through a lot of the organizational harshness as they got older.

  I'm wondering if it would be worth going to the 'special talk' just to hear that announcement. I haven't been to a meeting in over 6 months. Maybe I'll see what the WT study is about...

  Why on earth would anyone voluntarily step in to a K.H ? The announcement will be a damp squib, by the end of the Meeting the dubs are in full hypno. mode, eyes open but brain asleep, most of them will have to ask Sister Diligent afterwards what it was about.

  Then you will get the stooooopid comments about what agreat idea it is, which will make you vomit.

  I can think of much better things to do on a Sunday, like sit in the sun with a newspaper and a cool beer.

  Think About It

  The internet was always EVIL in JW world. This is an act of despiration to save money. Just think of faithful JW's who can neither afford a computer, or a monthly internet service fee. This move will backfire on the WTS.

  More JW's will be exposed to porn, violence, and other things the WTS warns against. More JW's will venture to apostate websites. Donations could also decrease.

  The WT organization must be severely bleeding money, and now doesn't care about the potential effects of the internet on individual JW's..
