MSNBC has a weekly show on pedophiles being caught on camera. Check it out, very interesting, you might recognize someone.

    Hello Seeker,

The three year rule came out of comments in the Organization book or it's predecessor. Essentially it asked if a brother should report a serious sin he'd committed years before, and answered it by saying if some time had passed and the brother saw evidence of Jehovah's blessing in his life, he wouldn't need to.

Later, a KM answered a question about what sort of time frame was meant, and they stated the 2-3 year period.

I am not sure if the KM article that you refer to specified a period of time, it said 'many years ago' if I recall. Blondie is the ace researcher in this department and might get time to verify this.

The reason that I remember this clearly is that I wrote to London Bethel when this KM article appeared and asked them to be more specific as to meaning, because the wording in the KM was ambiguous to say the least.

The reply was that this comment was meant to be understood as applying to sins not regarded as 'serious' such as smoking, that had occurred 'years ago' in someones past. It was not meant to apply to 'serious' sins.

Concidental with this, a JW with whom I was friendly and who was on a Branch Committee (not UK but close) was removed for a serious sin (fumbling around on a sofa with his then girlfriend) committed twenty-five years earlier.

    Cheers - HS

This is a crock of manure. They don't have enough men left so they use perverts. I wonder if the entire congregation has this wonderful excuse.

I think I'll start a few more web sites attacking and exposing the WT. Then I'll close them, wait 3 years, then apply to be an elder. I know they need them. I'll say God forgave me (he better, I told the truth which the WT does not know how to do), and that I can now be used. I wonder what would happen to me. I'm sure a DF would occur. Like I care.

This is just another attempt to try to put abuse behind them. I remember someone here quoting from a DC talk about child abuse. The speaker, reading from a Bethel outline, said something about abuse and "can't you put this behind you and move on and serve Jehovah"? When I run an apostate site for ten years and if I blew up a KH, I wonder if they'd "put it behind them"?? Such hypocrites.

Do you clowns in NYC truly believe that the world is fooled by your jackass hypocrisy?? Are you TRULY that stupid?? It would take an IQ of 70 (Forrest Gump's was higher) to think that you are viewed by the world OR GOD with even a shred of approval. You perverts are becoming quite famous. The "good news" is getting preached, alright. The good news is that the newspapers and the Internet are finally turning their attention to your depravity. Even the Pharisees could not have been worse than your conduct. You really are an organization of mental misfits. And as usual, if you don't like hearing the REAL truth, tough. What are you going to do about it? We are NOT afraid.

Having inappropriate thoughts about an older teenager who is under legal age and doing something sexual with them are 2 different things. Once a person crosses that line, they should never be put in a position of trust around children again. Period.

I was looking at the intro info last night. It struck me how long this 3 year rule went on and how easily elders just went along with it. And obviously, they just pulled this rule out of thin air, as there is no Biblical directive involved. It shows what happens when people are willing to follow other men blindly.

Then it mentions that some were instructed to write in the column "except for pornea". The DO letter included showed how very confusing the whole set-up was. They were always more interested in their own protection than the kids involved. It took a major crisis to bring about any change. It certainly isn't over yet.

    Hello Minimus,

Hillary, do you know of other "pedophiles" that really weren't pedophiles but just acted like one just once???

I really have no idea as the answer to this question is beyond my sphere of expertise.

I do know that pedophilia is a clinically and criminally intentifiable and not all adults who abuse children are pedophiles, but again I am no expert.

Here are several definitions of pedophilia:

Sexual attraction to a child; clinically, a person sixteen years of age or older who is at least five years older than the child. Pedophiles will prefer males, females, or both. Generally considered to be an incurable mental disorder.
A disorder in which a person has fantasies, urges or behaviors that involve sexual activity with a pre-pubescent child or children (generally age 13 years or younger).
Pedophilia (American English) or pædophilia/paedophilia (British English), from the Greek pa?d?f???a (paidophilia) < pa?? (pais) "boy, child" and f???a (philia) "friendship", (ICD-10 F65.4) is the condition of people (either adult or adolescent) whose primary sexual attraction is toward prepubescent children.

That is why I wrote that as far as knew this person did not commit another act against a child. I have no clue whether he is a pedophile or not.

Regarding "files" keeping track of these sickos - I have "heard" :) that these files are sometimes cleaned out and burned by persons who despise slander and maliscious gossip disguised as keeping the congregation clean.

My how that next Circuit Overseer visit must have been interesting.

    Question Box

    • What is meant by “some years ago” on page 170, paragraph two, in the “Organization” book?

This indicates more than a year or two. It may be noted that it did not say “many years ago.” So it is not an exact number of years, but more like two or three years. It was not intended to have a brother go back into the distant past to bring up wrongs of which he repented years ago and that have evidently been forgiven by Jehovah and are not being practiced now. In many cases the wrongs occurred prior to the time when the “Watchtower” drew attention to what the Scriptures say on such misconduct.

If a brother has been serving faithfully for some years and has seen evidence of Jehovah’s blessings upon him, why should he now step down from office? If he has the right viewpoint now on conduct and will give good counsel he should be able to continue to serve. If the local body of elders see that he has the respect of the congregation and has shown the proper qualifications over the last two or three years, he may remain in his position of service.

Must wrongdoing be brought to public attention after many years? The book (page 168) under “Public Reproof” quotes 1 Timothy 5:20 and mentions reproof of those who confess to committing more than one offense. But it really has to do with recent events. The “Interlinear” refers to those “sinning,” something going on at the time. So if repentance occurred some years ago, three years ago or more, and sinning ceased, and he is respected by the congregation, it is not necessary now to publicly reprove one who committed more than one offense “some years ago.”

So a clever pedophile, especially one who could move from congregation to congregation every few years (which in itself could be looked at as an example of his spirituality - "see, he's always moving to help out a new congregation!!"), could in fact have abused dozens or hundreds of children over the years.

I just read an article in the news this morning about a man who was arrested for messing around with dozens of under age girls. He was a gym teacher, a soccer trainer and such.

The reason he could molest so many is when he gets caught or is suspected, he quits his job and moves.

The news article called these people "club hoppers".

I wonder how many "Cong hoppers" there are in the org.

    lol.
