    So will the OSCE help the UN destroy religion??

    Look for nu-light on the Wild Beast to happen in the next decade. The current scare tactics involving the UN in the WT are probably just there to scare the R&F into unity. There is alot going wrong for the Borg that the R&F don't know. If something hits the fan, well thats a satanic attack so run to Spiritual Mother.

    If nu-light is released, so what? It was an expectation, and it served to strengthen the whole association of brothers. Just like the Rutherford 's " Superior Authorities " years. It will be polished up and served as a spiritual banquet!! God be praised!!

    Sounds like paranoid delusions to me.

    The UN is organization that was founded to maintain international peace and security; to develop friendly relations among nations; to cooperate in solving international problems and in promoting respect for human rights; and to be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations. How it can turn on religion takes a real stretch of imagination and an alarmist temperment.

    http://www.un.org/Overview/uninbrief/about.shtml

    The United Nations was established on 24 October 1945 by 51 countries committed to preserving peace through international cooperation and collective security. Today, nearly every nation in the world belongs to the UN: membership totals 193 countries.

    When States become Members of the United Nations, they agree to accept the obligations of the UN Charter, an international treaty that sets out basic principles of international relations. According to the Charter, the UN has four purposes:

    • to maintain international peace and security;
    • to develop friendly relations among nations;
    • to cooperate in solving international problems and in promoting respect for human rights;
    • and to be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations.

    The United Nations is not a world government and it does not make laws. It does, however, provide the means to help resolve international conflicts and formulate policies on matters affecting all of us. At the UN, all the Member States — large and small, rich and poor, with differing political views and social systems — have a voice and a vote in this process.

    The United Nations has six main organs. Five of them — the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council and the Secretariat — are based at UN Headquarters in New York. The sixth, the International Court of Justice, is located at The Hague in the Netherlands.

    "...to maintain international peace and security..."

    That's gotta be the little snippet that set ol' Freddy off.

    The WTS has always heavily plugged the "... nations will cry 'peace and security!' and then the end will come..." passage in Revelation (I may be paraphrasing) as one of the final coffin nails of "This Old System of Things" (presumably because it'll be either bullshit or blasphemy, depending on which decade's variation of WT eschatology you're reading).

    Seeing it right there at the top of the Security Council's to-do list would have been like dangling a bloody tenderloin in front of a pitbull.

    Everyone wants peace and security in their lives, so there is no shortage of straws to grasp at.

    Oh, yeah, totally.

    The UN Security Council is virtually powerless to enforce resolutions defending religious freedoms, let alone marshall a planet-wide campaign to supress it (even if they wanted to).

    Remember that old urban legend about a JW unknowingly witnessing to a UN rep and describing the expected scenario, and then being asked "how the hell did you know that was in the works?"

    Still makes me smile.

    True, but not quite what I was getting at.

    I'm envisioning Fred Franz seeing the UN's "peace and security" mandate, remembering the Revelation passage, making the (tenuous, IMO) Leage of Nations / UN / Wild Beast connection, and latching onto its perceived significance like a hungry End-Times canine.

    All he would've needed to do from there onward was a little eschatalogical reverse-engineering.

    Bobcat - thank you for your time. I will study this some more tomorrow. I am struggling to relearn it all as seperate to WT teaching. ( fliiping hard enough to get my head round it before, lol, now got to do it all over again ) I'm struggling to map it mentally.

    Here's a scenario, hypothetically speaking. Just say for example.

    America = great harlot ( has army bases across the world in many nations) Civil war breaks out in America, turns on its citizens. Result is then the

    Ten horns = Un

    Beast = Iran ( Persia. Or someone else, Russia)Iran is the only country that doesn't have it's fingers in any pies, and is independant and powerful. (she stands alone)

    Ten horns and beast turn on America, then attack on reilgion? (babylon the great )

    The the Big A.

    What you think

    China

    worlds 2nd largest economy

    worlds largest exporter and importer of goods.

    A recognised nuclear weapons site and has the worlds largest standing army with the second largest defense budget

    UNITED NATIONS member since 1971

    China is also a member of numerous formal and informal multilateral organisations including the WTO, APEC, BRICS, The Shanghai co-operation Organisation, the BCIM and the G20

    China has been described as a potential superpower.

    America = great harlot

    Some of the description of the great harlot does not fit:

    (Revelation 18:24 NWT) . . .Yes, in her was found the blood of prophets and of holy ones and of all those who have been slaughtered on the earth.. . .

    It would be a stretch to blame America to this extent. Rev. 18:24 paints a picture of something more pervasive and with a longer history than the US.

    The book "Alas, Babylon" (fictional nuclear war) applied Babylon to the USA.

    Keep learning and take care.

    Thanks, yes,

    The Harlot has to be false religion in all its forms, due to the killing of the prophets.

    Can't see how it can work out any other way.
