Watchtower falsification of its history

I received an email with the following information that is worth sharing.

The 2011 Yearbook goes to great lengths to elevate the truthfulness of Watchtower information in even minor details, and criticise information from other sources. So it is telling that the 2010 "Jehovah's Witnesses - Faith In Action, Part 1" has omitted an important element of their history when re-enacting the 1922 Cedar Point convention.

Under the heading "Tracing All Things With Accuracy" the 2011 Yearbook states:

"Jesus said that the faithful slave would be discreet in giving the domestics "their food at the proper time." Christ thus indicated that those who dispense this "food" would be conscientious, prudent, and discerning in providing spiritual food for the household of faith.-Matt. 24:45-47. In our time, Christ's anointed brothers use the Writing Department in Brooklyn, New York, to provide spiritual information in the form of magazines, brochures, books, and other printed and electronic material. This spiritual food, like physical food, has to be well prepared. Even Bible writers, who were directed by holy spirit, made sure that they recorded information that was thoroughly researched and accurate. Luke, for example, spoke to many eyewitnesses and "traced all things from the start with accuracy."-Luke 1:1-4. The Writing Department follows the pattern of 'tracing all things with accuracy.' But where can reliable information be found? While the Internet is a convenient and quick source of vast amounts of information, our researchers do not rely on blogs or poorly documented Web entries written by unidentified or unqualified persons. For example, Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia, warns that some articles on its own site "contain significant misinformation, unencyclopedic content, or vandalism," adding that "users need to be aware of this." Thus, the Writing Department looks to standard reference works, articles written by recognized experts, and books produced by respected publishers."

The Yearbook then goes on to explain the painstaking lengths its researchers go to in ensuring that all information is accurate. Then it finally sums up by saying:

"In summary, the Writing Department insists on using only material that is accurate and truthful, even regarding seemingly insignificant details. As a result, "the faithful and discreet slave" can consistently supply spiritual food that brings honor to "the God of truth"."

With that in mind, compare the stage of the Cedar Point convention with the re-enactment from Jehovah's Witnesses - Faith In Action, Part 1, with an actual photo from Pay Attention to Daniel's Prophecy page 299. You will notice that at the convention, the hall and stage were framed by the US star spangled banner flag. Yet this detail has been left out from the DVD.

Jehovah's Witnesses - Faith In Action, Part 1

Pay Attention to Daniel's Prophecy page 299

This is not an insignificant detail but a major prophetic and doctrinal issue. The 1922 Cedar Point convention is supposedly a "landmark convention" that was fulfilment of Daniel and Revelation prophecy. It is the end of the 1290 days from Daniel 12 and beginning of the 1335 days, as well as signifying commencement of the pouring out of the seven bowls of God's anger.

It is ironic that they criticise information on the internet for being from unidentified and unqualified people, when the Watchtower refuses to identify its writers.

Another interesting aspect of the DVD is that they included the knights templar (cross in a crown) but not the flags. I would love to know the thought process that went on behind that. Did they feel political alignment was worse than the connotations invoked by the "pagan" cross and a symbol identified with the illuminati?

The term selective information is constantly and efficiently used by the WTS.,

for the simple reason being that they have to make the organization appear as if god was really guiding them with his approval.

Selective information is also used to support their expressed doctrines as well.

There's always played out corruption with religion if there wasn't any the perceived obtainable power would crumble underneath themselves.

Jwfacts - you're on to it. My hat off to you. A pitch perfect photographic demonstration of the 'scholastic dishonesty' of the Watchtower.

The Watchtower is a master of manipulation and in the words of thetrueone, master of 'selective informative'. Thank you Jwfacts for bringing this issue to our attention. My question is: will members currently-in also see this shortcoming? I doubt.

Asked and well answered. My days of assuming and/or hoping that JWs themselves could see beneath the hypocritical veneer are long gone. JWs accuse those in Christendom of being blindly led by their religious leaders - a mirror view of what the JWs do themselves. If they even cared about such dishonesty, they would at least try to explain it away. Most JWs don't even bother to take it that far, so limply letting the watchtower do the thinking for them.

They removed them afternoon evidently. Evidently, DVD shoots are taken afternoon, and evidently photos in Daniel book are taken in the morning evidently.

jwfacts, a comparison of the two photos shows that not only the flags are missing. Also missing is the banner "Advertise the King and Kingdom" above the stage. In addition, the windows behind the stage seem to be of a different shape in the two photographs and there do not seem to be windows above the stage in the photograh with the banner.

My conclusion is that this does not involve Photoshop or deception but photos taken at different assemblies, and probably at a different location. There are similarities but I'm finding it difficult to reconcile the shape of the windows if it is the same location.
