    FlyingHighNow,

Maybe you're right, but the WTS thrives on constant repetition of ideas, one of which is:

    Apostate literature = Poison

Andre "survived" but now regrets his flirtation with "evil."

That seems to me what the vast majority of JWs will see in this story.

" I became aware of how crafty the false teachers were. Information taken out of context was their ‘strong evidence’"

This is just the usual mind manipulation - accuse the opposition of exactly the same thing they accuse you of and one cancels out the other.

The good news is, despite all these warnings, JW's still come to sites like this and more and more are learning that they have been tricked. The Emperor GB really does not wear any clothes after all!

The Internet is one reason that, since 1995 only 10 000 more JW's are active in the UK (125 000, now 135 000) which represents an increase average of just 666 a year. (Yeah funny it was THAT number :))

As any honest JW will admit, that is almost entirely an internal increase, from kids and other family members.

The more the GB warns its flock not to listen to, read or view anything about them that they did not write themselves, the more that alerts open-minded JW's that something is wrong!

It sounds like they are really threatened by the Ex JW's/Apostates..why else the warning. Otherwise they couldn't give a rats behind about them.

    Numbers going down WTBTS?

Andre' certainly is an interesting character:

w06 8/1 p25: When Andre was on all-night duty in the hospital, female colleagues repeatedly pinned notes - decorated with hearts - to his pillow, inviting him to have sexual relations with them.

g9/09 p13: "We are servants of Almighty God and have done nothing wrong," replied Andre. The commanding officer grabbed a samurai sword from the wall and held it aloft. "What if I kill you now? he snarled.

w94 6:1 p6: On one occasion when his team played a tournament in Italy, they were invited to an audience with the pope. There was nothing spiritually upbuilding about the visit, and the worldy wealth that surrounded the pope upset Andre. His doubts about the Church deepened.

w 11/06 p18: A young man named Andre had similar thoughts [in regards to masturbation]: "I felt like such a hypocrite," he says. "It was a struggle to get out of bed in the morning and face the day."

g95 9/22 p6: French gambler Andre agrees: "When you've got FF10,000 on a horse and there are 100 metres to go, someone could tell you your wife or your mother had died and you wouldn't give a fig."

w87 7/22 p24: Young Andre adds: "The way you act at home is how you really are. When you go outside and associate with other people, sometimes you put on a whole different attitude. But when you're at home in an envoronment you're used to, you act the way you really are."

w92 10/1 p6: Simon Kimbunga and his successor Andre "Jesus" Matswa were hailed as messiahs. They died, but their followers still expect them to return and usher in an African millennium.

g90 4/8 p15: A youth named Andre observes: "A lot of youths wait until they are 17 or 18 to get baptized, which is a little old." Why? "Because long before that they're old enought to make other decisions for themselves."

g77 12/8 p 30: When six-year-old Andre's mother went into labor at home in New York, he was the only one there to help. "Go into the bathroom and fill a basin with hot water," he was instructed, and shortly the little boy "was helping his mother wash and was monitoring the delivery, telling her of the infant's progress,"

I meant it more for humor than anything. I think Andre's a pretty common french name used in France and former French colonies.

Apostate sites are the low hanging fruit in Eden.

It is beautiful to the eyes, so it would seem.

    Desirable...tantalizing....and deadly.

    But, why?

Because the JW's are too stupid to see through the fact-twisting and out-of-context quotations by the Evil Slave?

    Hmmmmm, I don't think so.

Disconfirmation is a tenet of Borean noble-mindedness, is it not?

Testing the scriptures daily to see if things are so?

How better to test than to be vigilant to the "enemy" and their arguments?

Jesus did not shrink from listening to the arguments of his adversaries, did he?

Jesus didn't even smite Satan himself when being tempted. The actual confrontation of Satan's arguments led to refutation, did it not?

The hallmark of Jesus' style of teaching was to listen to counter-argument and expose the fallacy within easily with the word of truth.

Why is there such a discrepent rift between how Jesus dealt with lies, false accusations and wrong-headed thinking and that of the Watchtower Society in its advice to their version of Christian ministers?

The best defense against lies is truth and against false arguments is true argument and better reasoning.

How can this be even possible if one flees from those who seemingly spread false accusations?

Didn't Paul say that the battle was with "invisible forces in heavenly places" rather than with human apostates?

Jesus clearly taught: "You have heard it said......" followed by: "..but I say to you instead...."

Contrasting and comparing false statements and ideas with true statements and better ideas was Jesus' superior teaching strategy.

Not good enough for Watchtower ministers I suppose!

What the Governing Body fears most is having the rank and file member exposed to its very own history of double dealing, flip-flops, false dates, wrong interpretations and doctrinal change!

The average member can only encounter these deadly facts by visiting so-called Apostate sites. The Society plays a steady game of clean up and disposal with its broken promises.

The "Apostates" know where the pieces are hidden and where the bodies are buried.

Their day in the court of public opinion is consistently denied, however. Due process ends in the Kingdom Hall library when they are disfellowshipped.

FEAR is peddled instead of FACT.

Perfect love is supposed to cast out fear, yet, the Society instills and installs FEAR above all else in its admonition.
