    Apogs,

Thanks for the reference to Jody Hey, he states

When Darwin showed that life evolves, and that it does so by natural selection, he transformed our understanding of living things. But the very question Darwin addressed-the nature of species-continues to pose an awkward conundrum for biologists. Despite enormous efforts by a great many scholars, biologists still cannot agree on how to identify species or even how to define the word "species."

I totally understand your point, I am on board with the gradual evolutionary change over time, but I agree with you there is a problem in the world of science in identifying species. There are well known flaws in evolutionary biology.

Thank so much for bringing this perspective to my attention, very interesting indeed.

Kate has made plenty of claims and been insulting over and over with none of it returned. - Viv

I disagree, I don't insult people. I am here to help others and learn from others. If you feel insulted by me then I am sorry Viv. Kate xx

Viv, Kate is a special person, with her own way of looking at life, and her own way of dealing with people, which may at times not come over well in the written word, I guess I am be guilty of that too, I have had to re-post and explain myself better a number of times.

Cut the dear girl some slack.

May I say that I do appreciate your contributions here Viv, on this thread and on the board generally, just don't get in to a spat with Kate, it detracts from the debate.

I don't think the picture on page 2 of this thread is a great illustration, but you are wrong. There are 3 primary colours, and green is not one of them. They are blue, red and yellow. Yes, I can tell when the blue changes to purple, as that is where the red is starting to be mixed with it, thus creating purple,,, it intensifies, then changes to a red as there is less blue and more red in the mix. Green is a mixture of yellow and blue, and doesn't even figure in this whatsoever.

My point? Know your facts, before you make statements in a debate.

And 6 pages later, it's still an argument about whether Dawkins is a fundamentalist ......................... *sigh* ............ this could have been an interesting discussion. Thanks, Viviane, or should I say ............. well, I never did like sock puppets much. Never mind, keep having your fun by messing with the forum.

Thanks Phizzy for calling me special. But what about the point Apogs made and the reference from Jody Hey. I think that to be completely open minded about evolutionary biology we need to be critical of the fact that they don't know everything about identifying species.

Now this is no way is evidence that God exists, but it makes one wonder how he separated the species when he created the evolutionary process. LOL.

I'm not giving her a hard time. She made several nasty and untrue accusations about me and now denies it. She's a grown adult and can deal with it. I bear her no ill will at all.

I'm not in a spat with anyone. Why would I be? It's just words on a screen....

    Right after:

Perhaps you should repeat that back to yourself a few times. You don't know me or anything about me, any statement you make to that effect is born from ignorance.
