first of all let me start by saying who am i to judge, but... i understand jwn has completely evolved over the years, but what i would like to see a forum that has current members and former jw's that still live by bible principles and respect the bible, but are not afraid to call out the watchtower on their practices and revised history. i think quality posters as mentioned above, after venting their frustrations and experiences realize this website is taken over by athiests. and punk kids-[ see similar post.] so thats why they hav'nt posted in a while.

There's plenty of forums out there full of people stroking their warm and fuzzies together smug in the knowledge that they can avoid having to think a new thought or have anything dare challenge what they believe in. This isnt one of them.

Neither am I a "punk kid" (I am in my forties) nor am I an atheist. Plenty of others here continue to adhere to Christianity despite their disillusionment or outrage with the WTBTS. I would go so far as to say that one NEEDS to divorce the JW Organization in order to become a Christian. Witnesses follow the Governing Body and the Watchtower: they most certainly do not do things as Christ commanded.

I'm not sure what you feel is to be gained by starting off with an invalid generalization of the current posters here. Invalid generalizations, after all, are some of the main things we ALL came here to escape.

"...this website is taken over by atheists."

I slowly turned into an atheist, while my bias was for Jehovah. And my bias was strong.
I don't really feel that this site is taken over by atheists — but then of course, this is partly my new bias talking, I will admit.

The thing is, in my opinion, that many who question the WTS, end up questioning further — even their faith.
So it is not surprising that many here actually do become atheist or agnostic.

In my case, I'm as passionate an atheist as I was a JW. My understanding changed, but not my character.
And I will admit that being amongst peers here, really warms my heart. I'm 54 btw...

So please try to understand that nothing stops believers to opine on this site.
The solution to your critique is to talk as loud as we atheists!

Looking forward to more of your posts.

You would not want to be anywhere near somebody who actually lived by bible principles. Have you read that book?

My personal standards are far higher than god's.

The forum hasn't been taken over by atheists. There are few places you could find so many well-informed atheists so that theism is held up to scrutiny. As a result very few theists have the courage of their convictions to defend their beliefs.

Bible principles? Have you ever read that poisonous, hate mongering book?

Like Cofty points out — anyone has higher moral standards than the god of Abraham.
EVERYONE knows genocide, jealousy, slavery, vengence, etc... is wrong.

But somehow, when I was a believer, I rationalized that God knew better.
One day, I was tired of finding excuses for that monster of human folklore.

Cofty, Cantleave, me... and others DO express ourselves. If it wasn't for Tec and some others, there would be no constructive debate.
But what I have noticed lately, is that some believers speak up just to rant that they don't speak up enough... odd, no?

Maybe our arguments are too powerful?
