  Call it whatever you want evolution/creation has put things in the right place or is getting them there slowly. Man was not meant to poop seating down. He was meant to poop squatting, which effectively puts everything in the right place so it doesn't get dirty. It also aids the movement of you know what and has been shown to be more sanitary. Our environment today is what we made it to be. We changed it way faster than evolution/adaptation can keep up with. Bacteria and viruses in the other hand have no agenda, no politics, no economy, no human-rights no rush to get no where. That is where they get us in trouble. We can try killing them as much as we want to. There will always be more and better of them. Even if it takes them a million years.

  If there is a God, he gave us freedom the develop our life any way we want it. Therefore he is not at fault. Men made God to look bad in their intention to dominate others. Wether these "men" believed in the God they preached is of little relevance. He was just a tool to control people then as much as it is now.

  i know, is a crime, but so is pushing someone to not accept blood and die.

  would it help skew the numbers enough if enough of us did it?.

  Our hall is asking for money...

  i guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.

  we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.

  it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

  Did not get that far just yet. LOL

  I am assuming the financial reports in assemblies are made before checks actually clear. But that is an assumption.

  What would happen if they report the cost of the assembly at $8,000 with $4,000 received in donations but only $2,000 of that is really available?

  A couple of years ago, we were told they were building a new assembly hall in the area. IT was seen as such a blessing by most. They passed the survey around in one of the meeting. I guess whatever we pledged may have not been enough because a month later, another survey was conducted. The excuse for the new survey was that "some of the writing on the survey was not clear or readable" so the brothers wanted to make sure they would undercut themselves.

  Pledging and not supporting it sounds like a great idea. Should start adding zeros the next time we take part in a survey.

  (2 corinthians 9:7) in 1879, the second issue of this magazine stated: zions watch tower [as this magazine was then called] has, we believe jehovah for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support.

  we have not wavered from that policy.

  In our cong they have stopped reading the account reports. I can't tell you exactly when or and if this is the accepted practice. Some time in 2013 all male publishers were summoned to a special meeting. At the time, the cong may have been running low on funds because the meeting was to let us know that they were short on cash for that month. I naively suggested to the elder, in front of everyone present, that may be I had missed it, but I do not recall the accounts report. I told him exactly what blondie said, that may be that would remind everyone of the status of the accounts. He said the org had said (although this was just his word) to no longer read them and just post them to the board. I can tell you that the accounts report has not been read from the platform in a very long time in our case.

  In the local needs this week, we got a talk (apparently commanded from the mothership) to remind everyone the importance of the last broadcast. Yes, the one where Mr Lett said they needed money. His direct words were quoted on the talk and then a letter was read. Just as blondie mentioned, is that letter where people are reminded of how much they appreciate the donations. This time it was for the KH construction fund. They read the amount and everything. $500 exactly. This is the agreed upon donation that will be send to the society for eternity. Not sure that most of the brothers present realized that.
