  what would you do if you were conti or lopez and had a large award?

  sure, the options and the tastes are many but consider this.... i don't know if this has already been covered or mentioned but i think there would be no better investment of that money than to put into a non-profit.

  on dedicated to seek out and bring forward more cases.

  QUESTIONING THE OBVIOUS or deconstructing Jehovah's Witnesses

  what is the most obvious thing you can think of about jehovah's witnesses from the standpoint of worldwide recognition?.

  wouldn't it be 2 primary things: the name jehovah and secondly, the public testimony or witnessing?.

  let's begin deconstructing those two things.. first, why would christians refer to themselves by any other name than christian?.

On dedicated to seek out and bring forward more cases. Use their own money against them. Conti, Lopez, all of them putting together a resource pool for that purpose.

  i'm hearing all these comments about how wt dosnt care, is arrogant, unapologetic and is covering it up.

  hey and i agree with these comments to a point but as i'm no lawyer and don't know american law what would be the implications if wt did came out and admitted it's errors.

  i'm talking front cover wt here.

  In other industries this is comparable to the cost of a major recall. Think for example, large automakers or aircraft manufacturers. You weight the cost of the options. What is more expensive, to recall and replace a certain part of an airplane, or the payout to lawsuits after an accident. Each case is analyzed carefully based on the probability of each one happening. The cheapest one wins.

  I second that motion. However, its all financial. I believe they have already weighed both options and so far, hiding and denying is paying off but not for long. Once the tables turn, then we may get an apology. But keep in mind such apology will have no foundation. It will be fake, driven by the fact that the balance sheet calls for it, not the bible.

  please ask yourself and think about is deeply..... if there is a god and he made this incredible universe.......what is more likely?.

  a) that he needs your dollar bills to achieve his plans for the universe.

  There is no doubt that a God that can make bread rain from heaven, should be able to provide financially. However, there is not much evidence, backed by any approval of Jesus or God, that church goers are supposed to support an organized religion. When the Jews gave things to build the first arc of the covenant, they gave freely, to the point that God had to ask them to stop. Most religions, however, conveniently leave that part out. In the first century congregation, since there was no official meeting place, anything they gave, was to support each other and those who dedicated their life to preaching. There is no evidence that this was always in the form of money and that it was somewhat perpetual giving.

  Remind her Jehovah has promised us protection and that, if we believe what we read, we understand that the attack would happen on false worship, not on JWs, therefore there is nothing to fear. Make sure to drive that point home and then finish it with the second point. Which is, we don't want to be like those over zealous brothers of the 1970's, whom upon reading things like this, made drastic conclusions that the end was coming in 1975. But we know what happened to those brothers. May be that will drive her curiosity.

  I wish I could put that to practice myself but this kind of questions never really come up.

  I have been trying to write something similar to this. My understanding, however, is that Jews were witnesses to Jehovah among their own generations. Never do JWs attempt to say the preach and witness like the jews did. In essence, they were to bear witness of what Jehovah did for them to their own descendants. Based on what I read, and provided that I have not read everything, God was the one asking for them to bear witness of it. Point being is that God needed this nation in order to put his own mark on earth, when all other nations had their own gods and would claim victory thanks to their gods, if Jehovah planned to make sure all people knew he was the true god, then he needed a nation. Hence, once that was done, they could now bring forward the messiah, who was a savior for the whole earth. Thus now they should be witnesses to Jesus, not Jehovah. For he who bears witness of the son, also bears witness of the father. Correct me if I miss something.

  well, as an update to a previous thread, it turns out the talks were pretty plain and repetitive.

  end is coming soon, sooner, soonest, etc , etc.

  that was until the last day.

  Well, as an update to a previous thread, it turns out the talks were pretty plain and repetitive. End is coming soon, sooner, soonest, etc , etc. That was until the last day. It seemed like this was not going anywhere exciting, but I got my share.

  The one talk entitled "the scene of this world is changing" was all about, as you may have expected, change. Although at first I thought he was going to concentrate on org change, he actually only concentrated in political/world related changes. Specifically tailored towards the upcoming great tribulation, he did not seem to have enough words to stress that changes were coming and they were radical. Made me wonder for a while if the radical changes will actually be org changes that will be excused in politics, rather than theocracy.

  The last talk, titled "give us more faith", opened as something like this, to loosely quote him "In the 1880 something WT magazine, there is a story of a little girl that was asked to explain faith. She responded that faith was "obeying God without asking questions". He then basically made the whole talk about praising this little girl for her answer. So all of a sudden it was like this girl had replaced God and we needed to listen to her instead. In any case, the whole point was made on how faithful men of the past obeyed God without asking anything. Needless to say there was not one mention of the men who actually did question God and were still considered faithful. No mention of the fact that no more than two meetings ago, we studied the book "Draw Closer to Jehovah" on the subject of his flexibility and how he allowed men in the past to shape the outcome of events, because they questioned God.

  I would leave this here for you to make your own conclusions. Makes me wonder what kind of questions is it that we may asked if this talk was not presented.
