Congregation that have sent in money!

in the past week, i have heard from a number of friends scattered all over the place.

a number of them are very upset over the congregation being required, to send in all monies over $4,000.

a number of these were kh's that were saving to buy land, and or build new kh's.

I have to defend the friend of mine who want's his money back. He gave it for a stated project, with the understanding that was what it was to be used for, that project, not to be taken/stolen and sent away for others to decide what to do with it! I know this guys pretty well, he won't be giving anywhere as much as he always has to the local, or branch headquarters. His dad pretty much paid for the KH they are in now, 35+ years ago. And there is no telling how much more he would have given to the local project, once it got started! He said his legal people have told him, that he has a very good case!!

I agree that if you drop it in a donate box, with no strings, you have no right to be able to say how it is used!

In the past week, i have heard from a number of friends scattered all over the place. A number of them are very upset over the congregation being required, to send in all monies over $4,000. A number of these were KH's that were saving to buy land, and or build new KH's. After sending the funds in, the local congregation, are mostly being told, that their hall is OK, and may need some remodeling, but they they won't be getting a new hall! One friend of mind had donated $20,000 towards a new KH. He has ask for his money back, and is thinking about suing to get it back!!!! A few others are also MAD over the monies they gave for a special project, just being stolen (their words)

I would be pretty PISSED myself!! Thankfully my last dime was given almost two years ago now!!!!!

Negative forum behavior

another good codinghorror blog entry perfectly describes some people's online behaviour and an approach to handling it.

i'll post part of it below but to summarize, these tend to be behaviours that don't violate any specific rules as such as the people doing it try to carefully skate just up to the line but they are nevertheless disruptive and we're not going to tolerate them on this site.

if you are here to do these things then this isn't the site for you - move along, find someplace else on the internet to inhabit.. hate is easy to recognize.

New Site

but i do like the new site!

it seems a lot faster to me, and since i have found my way around, and a few adjustments that have been made, i am good with it.

like everything, it still may have some rough spots, but overall, it's good!.

Recommended Lodging List

just a few instructions orders from mother about motels.. please use only hotels that appear on the recommended lodging list.

(one page, with only one motel locally).

one nights deposit (credit card, money order, etc.,) is required, and should be sent to the hotel within ten days of making your reservation.

The more rooms paid for by the sheeple's the more kickback, the borg gets, in the form of free rooms!

Ones that truly can't afford rooms, can get free lodging if the eldubs agree, and send in the paperwork. Some in motels, some in private homes. Depending on how many free rooms the sheeple all pay for!

NEW LIGHT ALERT! TARGET 2015 END TIMES! EVE WAS CREATED 40 YEARS AFTER ADAM! THE END IS NEAR!

this is going around the kingdom halls now, i thought it was a hoax but are not all the end time dates produced by the organization some hoax or con?

the reason why the end did not come in 1975 was the watchtower society had not put eve's creation in their equation.

i was told when we had a "meet and greet" if "we knew the date of eve's creation we would know the year jehovah was going to destroy the earth.. it's been 40 years since 1975, can you believe it's been 40 years since "stay alive till 1975!"?

Even if that's what it all hung on, the 40 year thing just dosen't work. For how long was it from the time Eve was created, till the time she eat the fruit, 10 years, a few decades, 100 years? Nothing in the bible, tells either time frame, nor dose it give a time frame for when Adam was created, just because the Jewish calender points towards a date, for his creation, dose not make it so!

Before D day in 1944 only 2 people know for sure when it was going to be, lots of guessing, but until the order was given, the allied army's only knew it was coming!

JW buttons & BIG meeting cases!!!!

i can understand maybe wearing one of these out in fs, or at ca's & dc/ic, while out and about, but to the kh, come on who the heck are they trying to impress??

it looks so stupid for half the congregation to be wearing these things at most of the meeting.

oh and now when the circuit serpent, sorry servant, comes around it's even worse!!!

Butt kissing is in full pucker mode!!!!

In another posting I saw a commit or two about BIG meeting bags. You can tell the really self important newly appointed MS's not too many years ago, the next meeting, they came in hauling one of these things with them. And of course the one's that wanted it really badly, already had one!!!

One congregation, there was a want to be so badly type, he had the BIGGEST catalog case known to mankind, and he had almost every JW books that was anywhere close to current in it. He would set alone on the front row, and have all his books and ton's of notes all spread out, in order of the meeting! He moaned about not being appointed all the time. He also worked 6 hours a night, so he could pioneer, 5 hours a day, every day, yup 150 hours a month. He was so creepy, it was scarey!!
