Animals can't sin yet they suffer great pain and eat each other. Where is God in all of this?

the apostle paul said that death spread to all men because we all inherited adam's sin.. the human genome was mapped in 2000.. advances are being made in genetics.. britain recently allowed the creation of human-animal hybrids.. do you think eventually that scientists will find "sin"?.
i've just finished reading the language of god, a book about a scientist who headed the human genome project.
he was a former atheist but turned christian.

it was 1969 when i answered that first knock.
1970 when i got baptized.
it was suggested that i write a letter to the catholic chruch where i was baptized and disavow my baptism, that i no longer considered myself a catholic.
FHN. Thanks for the link and recommendation.
As far as death is concerned I am sad because of not knowing what to expect. There is the myth of certainty that confronts all of us.

Tom, Thanks for clearing this up. However, I have since lost faith in all religions and cannot accept "The Holy Bible" as my guide. I have come to accept it has a work of man and not God.
Even though you say no matter, that I am still a Catholic, non-practicing one at that and can go to confession and be restored to the faith, I feel nothing. It's been since 1969 that I left the church and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I did the fade in 2002 and since have moved away from the Brooklyn Headquarters to another state.
I reason that there is a cause of all life. What that is I don't know. So, here I am stuck in limbo so to speak, with no spiritual awakening, no personal experience with 'The Lord'. I'm 63 years old and my days are numbered, death will give me the final answer.

It was 1969 when I answered that first knock. 1970 when I got Baptized. It was suggested that I write a letter to the Catholic Chruch where I was Baptized and disavow my Baptism, that I no longer considered myself a Catholic. I followed the society suggestion and wrote that letter.
I did not recieve any formal response to that letter from the Church back then. However, when I left the Watchtower, I did not write them a letter disavowing my Baptism and no longer considered myself a Jehovah's Witness.
In any event the society has changed the two Baptism questions since the time that I said yes to the older two questions. Not having been Baptized by answering yes to the two new question I believe that the society has annuled the first set of questions and therefore annuled my Baptism.
About the letter to the church. As I don't belong to any church at this time, I feel that all this stuff about Baptism for me is now moot.
What do you think? Did you follow the society's direction? Have you wrote a letter to your church disavowing your Baptism when you got baptized a Jehovah's Witness? Or, is it all moot to you at this time?

hello all,.
i have heard over the last couple of weeks , from 2 different sources that the pioneer hours are to be reduced to 60, this has come from uk bethel sources, but not seen anything posted here about that here... also that the new wt for the witnesses contans an article that gives 3 new points of 'revised light'... any ideas what these are about?.
i have also had lots of fun recently, questioning people on what the scripture mean whan it says .. do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together, even more so as you behold gods day drawing near... in view of the recent book study stuff....
Sir82, You can coast the rest of the way! What!? Only hours are important to the society, not lives? Coasting could cost someone their life. What a sham the society is pulling off!

years ago, the "weak family" were the ones that always were nice jws but considered "weak in the truth".
they still went on their vacations, might've sent their kids to colleges, had plenty of "worldly" friends and so forth.
but if they had to make a stand, let's say on the "blood issue", they'd rather die than accept a transfusion!
Mini! Just before I did the fade about eight years ago I was working with the CO. and he was down in the mouth and had told me back then that the society was scraping the bottom of the barrel for good solid servants and it didn't look too good at that time.
Eight years later, how true his words have become. The bottom of the barrell has fallen out from all that scraping.

while growing up, my dad maintained a rather huge wts library.
i liked the idea of being able to pick out one of those old books from the1940s or earlier and read what they were saying back then.
well for the first time, in september of 2006 at the age of 40, i finally became a home-owner.
I trashed my complete library from 1950 to 2001. I tore to pieces most of it. You can research most if not all of the literature on line, so you really don't need to fill up your bookshelves with this literature if you intend to make a clean break and get this stuff out of your mind.
Fill your library with all new books of what interest you now.

oftentimes the accusation is made that there is some sort of conspiracy on jwd amongst the atheists to convert, humiliate, spit on, or otherwise degrade the believers.
it's been suggested that their tone is condescending and arrogant.. it's hinted at that they're angry and bitter about their own lives and want to take it out on god and his humble servants.. others think it's all just an excuse to lead what they judge to be a morally depraved life.. regardless of what we believe about god's existence or lack thereof, most rational adults understand that when we attempt to judge the motives of others we can miss by a mile.. so here's the reason i post about the topic of atheism.... i was born as one of jehovah's witnesses, fourth generation.
i was being indoctrinated with jehovah while i was still in the womb.
NVR. I mirror your sentiments. You gave careful consideration to both believers and non-believers.
This kind of topic or subject brings out an emotional appeal from either side. Some have very sensitive feelings for belief and for non-belief.
You have carefully walked the tight-rope and kept your balance as to why you post about atheism.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on a very complex topic.

may you all have peace!
i am compelled to repost this subject due to the current discussion on the board.
again, what i share with you here is truthful - honest, without deceit, and it is what i 'received' from my lord, the son of god, jaheshua mischajah.
When someone uses the Bible as their reason for faith in it they are using circular reasoning. To say the Bible says ,Jesus is this or that, does not mean it is true.

the following are transports of postings on http://www.channelc.org/ made by jim penton and ros regarding myself and james caputo respectively.
the reason that i did not post directly on channel c is that ros and many of her board participants do not like to see anything that resembles catholic discussion, even if the responses are done respectfully and in a spirit of clarifying a false claim or misunderstanding.
i too do not like "catholic" discussions on channel c, and have not posted there for 9 months until i recently posted an announcement about tom cabeen's interviews on ewtn and with randy watters.
Hi Jim! How is your health, your heart? It's been awhile since we exchanged topic responses.
I don't wish to get involved on either side of the discussion boards concerning your present topic here. It can become very taxing on my health, as I have aortic stenosis of the valve.
I hope that you are taking good care of yourself and not stressing out your heart with these responses.
I remember the days when I use to follow all your topics here on JWD before you had to stop posting because of your involvement with judicial matters.
How is your family doing? We are getting older, in our sixties now. Where has the time gone? It was just yesterday in 1969 when that first knock came at our door. When is your book coming out?
Take good care of yourself
