i have seen in my local area and while traveling a foreign country jw.borg booths at flea markets.
i remember about 8 or 9 years ago seeing a russellite table at a flea market, and a jw with me said how they were from russells time when those apostates left and the only preaching they do is setting up stands like that.
now jw's are doing the same thing.

my friends,.
i need your counsel on a personal matter, and i hope you will give it in love.
as some of you know, i was disfellowshipped six years ago, but it wasn't until june 2010 that i made up my mind never to return to the wts.
Hi, Quendi.
It sounds like you are right, this may be the final chapter. It's hard, so hard, to give up on those bonds that we forged as kids in the b'Org. It seems that folks like Mark, and I had a dear friend too, should understand, as we shared so much in our formative years. Resolution sometimes means accepting that it is the end. He probably wishes things were different, and trapped in the fears and shadows of the cult. The good memories and feelings can be treasured forever, long after the painful feelings fade.

today i interviewed an it company to support my business run from home.. .
the doorbell rings and i ask my girlfriend to answer the door.. .
i meet a trendy young woman and a hip muslim.
Umm, where Sharia Law is in effect, you can bet your life (LITERALLY) that women are 2nd class. I have rented from 2 Muslim people, and done business with a third, and well... appearances can be deceiving. You must employ extraordinary people who are not very devout.
Check out Ishrad Manji. She is a Muslim. Here's a couple of quotes from Wiki:
Manji's previous book, The Trouble with Islam Today (initially published as Trouble with Islam), has been published in more than 30 languages, including Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Malay and Indonesian. [ 7 ] She was troubled by how Islam is practised today and by the Arab influence on Islam that took away women's individuality and introduced the concept of group honour. [ 8 ] Manji has produced a PBS documentary in the America at a Crossroads series titled "Faith Without Fear", chronicling her attempt to "reconcile her faith in Allah with her love of freedom". [
.....
Manji has received numerous death threats. [ 19 ] [ 20 ] In a CNN interview, Manji stated that the windows of her apartment are fitted with bullet-proof glass, primarily for the protection of her family. [ 21 ] At her December 2011 book launch in Amsterdam "Muslim extremists stormed in" and ordered her execution. [ 22 ]
Things are not always as they appear, until we look at the bigger picture.

what is the society's current view on medical marijuana?
obviously smoking is a no-no, but what about edibles, or oils (think they're called tinctures)??.
.
Cannabis is not addictive, so I don't get the comparison to betel nut, tobacco or methadone. That's the WT though, dumb as a post.

I don't deal with anyone who treats women like second-class citizens. Religion has nothing to do with it.
Hiring someone to work for me in my home-based business? Then they best not be misogynists, and regard women as 'unclean',, or 'crazy biotches' .. or anything else that is offensive to my gender.

what was the most outrageous comment you ever heard during a wt study?.
.
please share your experiences..
The PO was talking about children (toddlers and little ones) squirming and disrupting the meetings. He encouraged parents to take their children out back to the washroom to discipline them.
"And when you take them to the back, that's when we *really* want to hear them."
I was less than 5YO, but it is one of my clearest childhood memories. Perhaps because my mother used the wooden spoon, when disciplining me because I couldn't sit still for two GD hours.

is there any way we can try to start a crowd-fund to help terry get some wheels quicker than he currently can?
with craigslist and a couple of bucks from a few members we can help terry get moving.
does anyone have any ideas how we can do a "theists for terry" bike fund raiser and challenge the atheists to a bucket-head challenge?
Yes, it's told here, in old threads.
It's worth scrolling through things if and when you have the time. We have some amazing folks on board, now, as then.

And why is such an intelligent person not well-heeled, and spending his retirement in luxury? Well, he was one of the people who went to prison for the WatchTower. That's right, rather than go to Vietnam. So, like many of us baby boomers, education was kind of DENIED.
