It is my understanding that the "State" cannot discriminate or punish a person for the above listed things. The "Religion" is not bound by these so-called Human Rights that the UN and its members don't enforce anyhow.

i was looking at the universal declaration of human rights posted at un.org and also the description of what constitutes a violation of religious freedom at uslegal.com .. .
according to the declaration of human rights:.
article 18.. everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
It is my understanding that the "State" cannot discriminate or punish a person for the above listed things. The "Religion" is not bound by these so-called Human Rights that the UN and its members don't enforce anyhow.

hi, my apostate friends.. a couple of weeks ago i asked for some advice regarding studying methods.
then some of you asked me to let you know my score after i take the exam at mineralogy.. i scored 90%.
i'm pretty happy with it because the exams i take are not in my native language.. if i keep up with the good scores i might get a scholarship and then bye bye watchtower society.
You must be chuffed!
congrats~!
breaking news :charity commission takes watchtower to charity tribunal in britain.
two weeks ago we run an article about the abuse case in moston manchester congregation .it would seem that the coverage from the main local newspaper manchester evening news and two national newspapers has alarmed the charity commission the official regulator for charities in england and wales and now for the first time !
they opened an official investigation on both charities ,the local one ,moston congragation and the central one jehovah's witnesses of britain indicating that in their eyes these two are connected and liable for any misconduct .this is the time for a concentrated campaign from all of us to inform the charity commission why the watchtower should not be a called a charity .the article above has a link for the charity commission complaint page .follow it!.
Joe Grundy
You know that quote by Edmund Burke? Well, you are the man who does something, so that evil does NOT prevail. Bless you, heart and soul, Mr. Joe Grundy.

just a quick thought.... we know that the org loves to paint all those who fade or leave as "negative, bitter and unhappy"...because of course "the truth is the happiest way to live".
so, never allow ourselves to be that way when talking with witnesses, or family members still in.. show them that we are happy, our lives are fulfilled and positive.. then they have no ammunition.
also, it helps other doubters to see that there is life in the world beyond the org..
So, now we should pretend that apostates are the "happiest people on earth"?
No, thanks.
I would advise folks to work on their issues, don't dwell on the past and stuff anger down (which causes bitterness, a useless and destructive emotion), and live life to the fullest.
Also, I agree that a negative attitude towards life is not healthy - but how to NEVER be negative when talking to a JW about their religion? Impossible.
Sometimes we are unhappy - that is reality.
I left the JWS so that I could tell the TRUTH and be a REAL PERSON.

i've been enjoying this series quite a bit.
i believe this a non-jw from jamaica whose brother is studying and working toward baptism.. the playlist is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/ucmfy5skgfysq36ug1ismnsg/videos.
Good vids (checked out two), but I doubt the 'back story'. The canned voice (ie, computer-generated, reading from text) and other details tell me this is most likely apostate material, and perhaps they feel that pretending it is someone trying to rescue his brother has a good hook.

i'm not sure if there is anyone here anymore that remembers stealth, but if there is i just wanted to pass on the news that he passed away from a heart attack almost 2 years ago now.. i just found out myself today.
he had moved overseas and we lost contact.
he was in an area that he didn't always have reliable internet connections, so it wasn't uncommon for me to not hear from him for long stretches.
I've thought about this very thing, Bumble Bee. I have let my next-of-kin know, so she can check my email, etc., to notify long-distance friends if anything should happen to me.
So, yeah, I understand. I haven't heard from a friend from here, for over a year. He was confined to bed last time he emailed, with a disease that makes typing difficult, and we were gonna plan to do a video chat. He is on the other side of the world .... we were just getting to be buddies. I dunno, hope he is okay.
much love!

Gosh, of course I remember Stealth. I am so sorry for your loss, and you must have been so worried these past couple of years. ((hugs))
RIP
i'm pretty sure it is, just wanted to confirm.
this would be someone who went once and only looked....
It all depends on who your friend knows, and how the local elders feel about it. My male sibling used to go to strip clubs all the time. He was considered 'spiritually weak' at the time, but it was not a DF issue.
That may have changed - but I woud be hella surprised if it's covered in the literature 'officially'.
found this on youtube.

I enjoyed that - they truly are thugs.
Oh, and yes, you can be a "Sheriff" and a JW. My male sibling is a sheriff (he was an MS, but not sure if he still is, as I'm shunned by my immediate family).

"judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.
this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .
this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.
Unky Punky, you beat me to it, and very succinctly!
It is a mythological construct used to control the masses by offering some kind of reward in return for obedience to a deity or deities.
