I don't understand the question. Could you be a little more specific?

Should People With Mental Health Problems Be Given More Leeway?
by Englishman inmy knowledge of mental health difficulties is confined to my own experiences with depression.. thankfully, i feel that i was able to eventually identify it's source and deal with the problem.
i read lot's of books and camne to the conclusion that i was suffering from a neurosis.. apparently, neurotic people recognise that they have a problem and often seek to remedy that problem.. i read also that there are people who suffer from a psychosis.
psychotic people think that the problems they encounter are everyone elses fault and don't take responsibilty for their situation.

True, its an imperfect system, but its the best one we can make
I agee, but I wasn't necessarily talking about the system, just people in general. Pedophiles are usually viewed as evil. We rarely, if ever, symphathize with them, or think they should be given leeway. I think it depends on the crime. That's why I say it's all relative.

Pedophelia is considered a mental illness, according to the American Psychiatric Association. There are different treatments to different illnesses. Its a crime to commit murder, whether you are sane or not. Criminals are still punished according to their crimes, whether they were sane or not.
Not all mentally ill people are put into prison. Some are put into mental institutions and later let out. But most pedophiles are sentenced to prison. People can plead temporary insanity as well. Few may get away with it, but it happens.

The problem is...................how do you really know if someone is mentally ill or not? It's pretty obvious when someone talks to themselves or see things that aren't there. But how do you tell when it's not that black and white. Some people think that serial killers are sick (paranoid schizophrenics). Others think they're just evil. The truth of the matter is, we choose who we "want" to be mentally ill. A pedophile is sexually attracted to children. Normal people aren't attracted to kids. It would be safe to say that these people are mentally ill. But we don't "want" to give leeway to these type of people. We have no sympathy for them. We don't "want" to think of them as sick. We'd like to think of them as just evil so that we can lock them up and throw away the key. It's all relative.

How would you have done it?
by Ariell inpretend that you're god (yaweh) for a moment.
it doesn't matter if you believe in him or not.
you've created the universe.

Pretend that you're God (Yaweh) for a moment. It doesn't matter if you believe in him or not.
You've created the universe. The angels are in heaven with you. You decide to create man. Now think about what God does in the events that follow. What would you have done differently? Or would you have done anything different at all?
What would you have done the moment you realized Satan had turned against you? How would you test Adam and Eve, or would you have tested them at all? And if you did give them a test, how would you punish them if they disobeyed?
Would you have created only two people to populate the earth or more? Would you give man free will? How would you give them laws to live by, or would they be born with these laws already implanted into their hearts and minds? What would you do if they broke these laws?

Is the Bible Just B.S.?
by shamus indo you think that god enjoys killing people?
it sure sounds like it to me; jw doctrine more or less scared me into thinking that god is going to kill all persons whom he/she thinks is not doing his will.
my question is, how can god kill someone for not being "christian", or following the bible out of sheer ignorance?

And what exactly is the christian view about the purpose of life, and what happens after death. I don't believe in resurrection - no. Reincarnation seems to be likely, and that this is what he taught, but was edited out of the bible and omitted from his teachings.
Anyway rubbish has been added on, through the centuries and misinterpretations.
But if God is so powerful, why would he even allow things to be edited out of the bible? If the bible is truly inspired by God, why would he allow things to be added on? If God is so wise, wouldn't he be intelligent enough to realize that mankind wouldn't be able to tell the real from the fake?
And if humans are smarter than animals, shouldn't the aforementioned prove that reading the bible other than for leisurely purposes is a complete waste of time?

Have you really left?
by Ariell ini'm sure we all view the watchtower society as a mind controlling dictatorship that has systematically destroyed our lives is some shape or form.
i'm sure this is why we've all left, but have we really?
someone can physically leave a religion, but emotionally they're still there.

................................continued
At first we are all excited to learn about the deciet of this organization and confirm our long lived suspicions, but then reality hits: "I'm going to die one day." "I'm never going to see my child, mother, or sister again." That's a hard pill to swallow. However, some of us choose to accept it and come to the conclusion that we will never know the "truth" until after we die, if at all. We go on with our lives and don't dwell on it. Yet there are others who need an answer. They need the "truth". It's like they're replacing one drug with another. Not only do they feel the need to believe again. They also (not all, but some) feel the need to convert. Sounds familiar? Likewise, I find myself trying to convert others to my agnostic views. So I have to ask myself.........Have I really left?
P.S. Does anyone else have problems with submitting long posts?

I'm sure we all view the Watchtower Society as a mind controlling dictatorship that has systematically destroyed our lives is some shape or form. I'm sure this is why we've all left, but have we really? Someone can physically leave a religion, but emotionally they're still there. They still believe. Whereas a person who no longer believes stays physically becauses he/she wishes for no one to learn of their secret demise. I would consider the one who is no long a believer as the person who has truly left and the former as very much still in. This is a black and white situation though. It's not always that simple. Let me explain:
There are Jehovah's Witnesses who can't imagine leaving the faith and living their life as is. Some go to great lengths in order to find another religion or another way of understanding the bible before offically leaving. It's like a person who is in a relationship, but afraid to be alone. So they go out to find another person to be with before deciding to leave their spouse or significant other.

The Watchtower's Version of God
by Ariell init really bugs me when people say we've been brainwashed by the watchtower's version of god, but the fact of the matter is, the bible says what it says.
these acts of silliness, cruelty, and injustice are clearly stated.
jehovah's witnesses aren't the only ones disturbed by things they've read in the bible.

So what are you saying? That the real God of the bible isn't totally screwed? Or are you just pulling my chain?

.........Continued
I'm glad that there are people who stop to think "this can't be right". I believe those men who crashed into the world trade center on 9/11 believed they were doing the right thing. The suicide bombers in the Middle East believe they are justified in their actions simply because of a religion. That's scary. But no matter how many religions come and go, there are always those people who see the fallacy. That to me speaks volumes. If we're made in the image of God, then why is his idea of justice so different from ours? Would you think it right to stone your child to death for speaking back to you, or even slapping you? Would you think it okay to stone a woman to death for commiting adultery? Would you think the president of this country would be justified in ordering American soilders to slay all the Iraqi children? Of course not. So why was it okay thousands of years ago?
