New light in this weeks WT?

anybody have any ideas where they are going with the "new light" they have been pushing last week and this week?

for instance in this weeks study article one section reads:.

in years gone by, we believed that jehovah became displeased with his people because they did not have a zealous share in the preaching work during world war i. we concluded that for this reason, jehovah allowed babylon the great to take them captive for a short time.

How is it even possible that they get new information about their own history, especially now that everyone who actually had first hand experience is dead?

Page 27 § 5:

strong evidence... WHERE can I find this strong evidence?

For me it's wishy-washy.

The thing is that I no longer have the WT Library on CD, actually I no longer have a Windows computer period. I have gone all Mac so I cant research like I used to.

Is it possible to decline preaching in the carts?

hi folks,.

i have a difficult dilemma.

since i'm not pioneering any more, i'm reducing my hours wasted at that artifact known as cart or trolley.

Some elders are never in the cart since they work all the week and those who are on the list don't like it and don't want to increase their hours...

Follow the really good example of this spirituality elders and find a fulltime job.

How do JW's determine a person is anointed?

i've always wondered about this.

when a person believes they made a spiritual connection with god and proclaims themselves as anointed, how do they determine whether this person is anointed or not.

does a group of elders look at the person's spiritual resume and check off the person's pioneer stats, bible knowledge, attendance, work ethic, personality, etc and then believe in the person if they have a good track record?

Actually, there was a Questions from Readers 6-15-96 WT issue p. 31 on that that said the WTS said it was equal.

And they repeated it in this WT:

Modestly, anointed ones acknowledge that they do not necessarily have more holy spirit than those with an earthly hope. They do not claim to have special knowledge or revelations; neither do they try to prove that they are in some way superior. They would also never suggest to others that these too have been anointed and should start partaking; rather, they would humbly acknowledge that it is Jehovah who does the calling of anointed ones.

I do believe that in some jurisdictions where it requires elders to report the matter, the must and should. In jurisdictions where it gives the option to report or not, they should encourage the family to report and if they choose not to report, then the elders should report.

So last year there was a letter to all BOE, that EVERY Damage to property and burglary (at kingdomhalls) should be reportet immediately to the police.

Why not such a letter because of a much worse crime???

It's a CRIME - not "only a sin" - and every crime has to be reported.
That should be the WT policy.

It doesn't matter, because 1 case is 1 case to much.

There we have 1 victim - facing the hell on earth in "the spiritual paradise" for the rest of his/her life.

One Big Family... Except For When You Need Them

when i was in, we all used to claim us jw's were "one big family" all around the world, and how we're the happiest people on the earth.

except that isnt true is it?

i knew that when i was in, but i've just had some news which shows me how unloving, uncaring and un-family like they really are.. my ex-best friend (he has to shun me doesn't he?

It pains me because i really want to help. Wether it be with money or, hey, i have a big spare room. But there's no way they'd even speak to me.

Anyway - offer your room to them. Write it down, put some money into a envelope and give it to him.

After all - he will waways remember: NO JW offered real help, only his fried - the EX-JW. There is no better way to show true christian love to him and that this love comes from people - not from an organisation.

2:12- "i do not permit a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence".

or verse 11- "let a woman learn in silence with full submissiveness.".

Life is changing for me: no pioneering, got a job!

a month ago i decided to register in this board.

i had decided to step down pioneering but was frightened about the consequences.

i had finished my university degree some months before (despite disaproval from brothers in my congregation) and i had to choose: continue pioneering and working in jobs with no future or starting a career, working full-time.. i was thinking to postpone the decisiton but... i was fed up with preaching.

Now I have more time for me and a perspective of a better life here, not in the Paradise coming just around the corner.

Congratulations for your degree and the new job.

I heard the same lame "stories" 30 years ago - and in only a few years I will be a retiered worker (pensioner).
In 1968/69 I was a teenager, when the Awake promised me, that I will not grow old in this system and I should not go to the university.
BOLD LIE.

You've done everything right so far and the next step will come - if you are ready.

I made little steps for my fade - take all the time you need.
