Life is changing for me: no pioneering, got a job!
by Skepsis ina month ago i decided to register in this board.
i had decided to step down pioneering but was frightened about the consequences.
i had finished my university degree some months before (despite disaproval from brothers in my congregation) and i had to choose: continue pioneering and working in jobs with no future or starting a career, working full-time.. i was thinking to postpone the decisiton but... i was fed up with preaching.

Now I have more time for me and a perspective of a better life here, not in the Paradise coming just around the corner.Congratulations for your degree and the new job.
I heard the same lame "stories" 30 years ago - and in only a few years I will be a retiered worker (pensioner).
In 1968/69 I was a teenager, when the Awake promised me, that I will not grow old in this system and I should not go to the university.
BOLD LIE.You've done everything right so far and the next step will come - if you are ready.
I made little steps for my fade - take all the time you need.
Best luck for your happy future.

"Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."
by pale.emperor innow that im not longer a jw this verse puzzles me.
being born and raised a witness, this verse confirmed to me that jesus was talking about a paradise on earth.
but now that everything the witnesses taught is 99.99% incorrect can somone explain what he was getting at here?

*** w08 1/15 p. 22 par. 11 Counted Worthy to Receive a Kingdom ***
The Hebrew Scriptures were written in the first place for the fleshly nation of Israel during the time that they had a special relationship with God. The Christian Greek Scriptures were written primarily for “the Israel of God,” those anointed as brothers of Christ and spiritual sons of God. Of course, that in no way suggests that non-Israelites could not derive great benefit from studying the Hebrew Scriptures. Similarly, Christians who are not anointed with holy spirit derive immeasurable benefits from studying and living according to the counsel found in the Christian Greek Scriptures.

NWT cross references
by Steel inlately i have been really interested in the idea of who jesus was in the in old testament.
i have reading an author named michael heiser who generally believes anytime there was a physical manifestion of god in the old testament it was a pre incarnation of jesus christ.. i was reading the first chapter of jeremiah there is a figure called " the word of jehovah appears ".
this actually happens in a number of places in the old testament.

I check my nwt and see if any of these appearances actually reference Jesus being called the word of god or the visible image of rhe invisible god in the new testament. The word of god can refer to 3 "things":
1.) The literal word of God when he speaks to someone
2.) Jesus
3.) The bible or books of the bible

Feb. 2017 "Who is Leading God's People Today?"
by Saethydd ini know that i am not by any means the first person to take note of this article, but today i finally got around to reading it.
i quickly found the now infamous line "the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.
" in the interest of fairness, however, i decided to finish the paragraph, which led me to finish the lesson.

Well, we know for sure now! "A recent book on religion" said it... it must be true.... Why are we trusting "worldly" books? hmm? "Worldly" books are great, especially without any 'Title, Author, Year, Page number'This should be the book:

How Culture Has Trumped Religion in American Politicshttps://www.amazon.com/Secular-Faith-Religion-American-Politics/dp/022627506X

I am an unbaptised publisher. Can they still decide to officially shun me?Yes - they can and they will do it.
They will annouce at the meedweek-meeting:
Person xy is no longer an unbaptised publisher.
This announcment indicates to all JWs in the hall, that "something" is wrong with you.
BUT: JWs can count there hours "preaching" to you. So it may be, that some JWs will still assosiate with you and write down the hours on there monthly timeslip. The love of the JW is always conditional - it depends on your beliefs (that you do not contradict the JW doctrines).

I don't have access to my cd right now, but in the past the WTS has said that these buildings will survive into the new system to be the foundation of the new government on earth, WTS governing.*** jv chap. 20 p. 339 Building Together on a Global Scale ***
Building work is being done by Jehovah’s Witnesses because of needs that exist now in connection with preaching the good news. With the help of Jehovah’s spirit, they want to give the greatest witness possible during the time that remains before Armageddon. They are convinced that God’s new world is very close at hand, and they have faith that they will survive as an organized people into that new world, under the rule of God’s Messianic Kingdom. It is also their hope that perhaps many of the fine facilities that they have built and dedicated to Jehovah will continue to be used after Armageddon as centers from which knowledge of the only true God can be diffused until it truly fills the earth.—Isa. 11:9.
