Mis-translation of the bible even by the time of Jesus
by 88JM in*** g76 7/22 p. 27 what worship does god approve?
"evidently to give credence to their belief, the samaritans changed a passage in the fifth book of moses to read gerizim instead of ebal.".
came across this quote last night.. i was slightly surprised to see an awake article admitting that "corruption" of bible texts started so early, even before the time of jesus.. i was wondering a couple of things:.

To make one point clear:
WT doesn't say, MS & Elders are appointed direct by holy spirit. There chain of reasoning:
---> Bible was written under the guidance of the holy spirit.
---> So the scriptural requirements for men (recommended for congregational responsibility) were written under the guidance of holy spirit.
---> For this, they (men) MUST meet the biblical requirements for appointment.
---> THEN it can be said of them, that they have been appointed by holy spirit.
*** w13 11/15 p. 22 par. 6 Obey Jehovah’s Shepherds ***
6 When addressing the overseers of the first-century congregation in Ephesus, the apostle Paul pointed out that holy spirit had appointed them overseers “to shepherd the congregation of God.” (Acts 20:28) The same is true of Christian overseers today, since they too are appointed on the basis of Scriptural requirements inspired by the holy spirit.*** bt chap. 5 pp. 42-43 par. 20 “We Must Obey God as Ruler” ***
Jehovah’s people today follow the apostolic pattern. Men recommended for congregational responsibility must manifest godly wisdom and give evidence that the holy spirit is operating on them. Under the direction of the Governing Body, men who meet the Scriptural requirements are appointed to serve as elders or ministerial servants in the congregations. (1 Tim. 3:1-9, 12, 13) Those who meet the qualifications can be said to have been appointed by holy spirit.*** cl chap. 16 p. 165 par. 19 “Exercise Justice” in Walking With God ***
19 Elders are often called upon to make decisions that affect their fellow believers. For example, elders periodically meet to consider whether other brothers in the congregation qualify to be recommended as elders or ministerial servants. The elders know the importance of being impartial. They let God’s requirements for such appointments guide them in making decisions, not relying on mere personal feelings. They thus act “without prejudgment, doing nothing according to a biased leaning.”—1 Timothy 5:21. -

10 or more hours of field service is not enough. You can have real 30 hours every month and can not be MS.
Because:
1.) The congregation MUST see you in field service
2.) You have to do your hours TOGETHER with your "field service group"This are the rules from our elders

Yesterday the user BluesBrother wrote in Blondies WT Comment:
"I was always under great pressure to Aux Pioneer in April, but nobody ever asked me how the shepherding was being done. Unless they change the emphasis, the cong will continue to get hit or miss attention.....NB If he is on the RBC or such like he can get credits for field ministry hours . I guess that shows their priorities....."

Important scripture about the Faithful and Discreet Slave
by Crazyguy inits been mentioned here before that the governing body almost never mentions the verses in luke about the faithful and discreet slave.
one reason is because the scriptures are more in detail but could this also be the real reason they don't mention these scriptures.. .
luke 12:41new international version (niv).

Because the WT knows well, that it is a parable or illustration - and not taken literally ---> they defined the new phrase "prophetic illustrations" oder "prophetic parables".
Here one example from the 70's:
*** w75 10/1 p. 590 par. 6 Things Which the “Kingdom of the Heavens” Is Like ***
6 Because “all the crowd began to rejoice at all the glorious things done by him,” one would incline to think that Jesus reacted to the rejoicing of “all the crowd” by telling two prophetic illustrations to picture how God’s kingdom would not be made up of only a “little flock,” as Jesus had indicated earlier, in Luke 12:32.And here the one for the F&DS:
*** w13 7/15 p. 8 par. 19 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” ***
19 In review, what have we learned? In the beginning of this article, we raised three “when” questions. We first considered that the great tribulation did not begin in 1914 but will start when the United Nations attacks Babylon the Great. Then, we reviewed why Jesus’ judgment of the sheep and the goats did not begin in 1914 but will occur during the great tribulation. Finally, we examined why Jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation. So, then, all three “whens” apply to the same future time period—the great tribulation. How does this adjusted view further affect our understanding of the illustration of the faithful slave? Also, how does it affect our understanding of other parables, or illustrations, of Jesus that are being fulfilled during this time of the end? These important questions will be considered in the following articles. -

I found a lot of very good friends over my hobby. I love to drive muscle cars and there are a lot of people (some in clubs) doing the same. So we meet regularly - talking about cars, eating together, driving around a little together. Also some of us working in our free time on the cars together (rebuilding, repairing).
Maybe this works also for you. -

Let the Sun shine in - March Awake
by jws inhas this been covered yet?.
i was looking to download the new nwt from jw.org and stumbled across an awake on creation - march 2014 edition.
and it always interests me to see the latest spins they'll try to make creation sound plausible.. seems now they are implying the sun, moon, and stars were created when god said "let there be light".

Quote:
"The Bible frequently uses the term “day” to designate various periods of time.
In some cases these periods are of an unspecified length.
The account of creation found in the Bible book of Genesis is one example of this .So this is a very clear statement, that also the 7th day (quiet period) is a period of "unspecified length".
No longer: "6000 years of human history have been completed"
