if a disaster strikes me i would first see if my direct familymembers are ok or need help before i would help any other people. thats a normal and natural reaction. The same do Jehovah's Witnesses when they start to help their spiritual familymembers first. nothing wrong with that

Emergency relief fund for the Philippines. How will it work.
by joe134cd ini was just thinking it will be interesting to see how the wts emergency relief fund will operate in the philippines.
ok it worked well with the storm in florida, with cashing in on the insurance cheques.
sorry to generalize, but americans have the disposable income, and the insurance polices for things like this - a thing the wtbts finds very attractive.

@Tiktaalik if you really want answers on such questions why not search for them? One of the most important questions is why does God allow suffering? so find your answer at www.jw.org or take a free bible study

@Madgiant i would not call it magic but to think that an almighty God is prevented to do things just because some laws of nature is naive. The bible is full of examples to show his not bound to those laws.

A scientist is a person having expert knowledge of one or more sciences, especially a natural or physical science. Our creator does not have to understand concepts in order to do the things he wants, he invented the concepts and can make all things possible.

I think they're trying to shake off the Watchtower...
by gingerbread inwe had another couple over this weekend.
after taking a reasonable hike in the woods, we came back to the house, made a fire and began to talk a bit.
these folks are long time friends of ours and are (like us) slowly easing out of the kingdom hall.

@datadog & Sir82
I did not claim that Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones on the ground or the only victims. Its a terrible tragedy. However i consider witnesses as my family so that is why i mentioned them.

they are already on the ground and busy. Unfortunately reports come in that dozens of Jehovah's Witnesses lost their lives too. Kingdom halls and houses are all destroyed. at this moment many people sleep in Kingdom Halls that are still standing. Of course help is on the way.

Its all part of the strategy to increase the 'volume loudness level', as is the change in hours for pioneers and aux pioneers and reduced nr of hours in certain months. More people participate, meaning more field service, more people reached, more literature distributed, more studies.
Dont be surprised to see that the Jehovah's Witnesses and JW.ORG will become much more visible and well known the coming years.

JW came to door
by gma-tired2 injws don't waste time talking today.
she knocked on door, husband answered, she said were doing a world wide work and shoved a pamplet in his hand and left.
i remember the days when we actually try to get the householders in a conversation.

This month the tract is being distributed worldwide to as many people as possible. During this month we wont try to have conversations except if the person at the door has questions. Then we take time to answer. So this is not our normal field service. Kindest regards from the Netherlands, Europe
