As far as my understanding, being spiritual is very much associated with beliefs about the non-existing things. In plain terms "Superstitious"

What JW habits do you still have?
by Exelder insince leaving the jw's after over 4 decades, i can see exactly what it is and hate everything it stands for.
however, there are still some jw habits and traits that i can't get rid of:.
1. i can't swear in general conversation (i'd have to be really angry).

I have a JW habit I forgot to tell in my previous comment.
JWs are trained to provide a witness at every opportunity.
Yes, I continue that and use every opportunity to sow seeds of doubts in JWs now.

I pretty much trained myself to do anti-JW things after I left. I do everything thats in your list. Never got a blood transfusion, as it was never needed so far.
I think the reason for me getting over this is, I educated myself more about Evolution, religions and God and came to an absolute certainty that all religions are frauds and Evolution is fact.

Jehovah's Witnesses worship a pagan god derived from the ancient Canaanite civilization
by Finkelstein inhistorians of ancient history along with bible scholars have found from where the ancient hebrews acquired their god yhwh .. el was the all powerful god of the canaanites which the hebrews converted mostly to a monotheist style of worship for themselves.. apparently their were ancient civilizations that predated the canaanites as well .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnpaoappiqm.

If there is an Almighty god, why can’t he write his name in the space out there, by any means and irrefutably prove that he exists and has a name too.
Why all this commotion
Also, I see people here mentioning about "False Gods", as if a true god has been undeniably proven to Exist.

Sorry to hear all those affected by the cult.
Luckily I was baby during 1969, raised by protestant parents who gave me the best childhood ever.
When I was in the cult, an elder came and counseled me that I am too materialistic and should think of quitting my fair paying job to go for a menial one, as I could do more in the FS non sense.
Thank myself, I never listened to him as I always had the doubt that this is all a scam.

Some thoughts on the message of doom
by JeffT inone of the recent threads on the talk about the hailstone message got me to thinking.
the problem with putting out a message like that is what to do when nothing happens.
i have to think that somebody will be asking that question.

They always have this magical "Invisible" Keyword
When nothing happened in 1914, they said Jesus Started to rule invisibly.
The angels are guiding the preaching of the good news invisibly.
The mighty heavens, the Legion of angels, Jehovah, Jesus and Satan are all damn real but invisible.
Likewise the hailstones are being pelted invisibly.

Are you telling me you don't think the account where a doney talks to a man is real?"
That one annointed donkey should have been inspired and filled with holy spirit.

Who was the devil that tested Jesus in the Wilderness?
by Doug Mason inwhen i started investigating "the temptations" at matthew chapter 4, i had no idea that i would develop the ideas contained in my study paper.
so it cannot honestly be said that i set out to prove the conclusions i arrived at.. it is available at:.

This is how religious people retrofit their religious events with the modern understanding of things
Jesus = Real
Satan = Not real. Just a Temptation
Mountain = Not real. A metaphor.
Moral of the story. Resist temptations like Jesus. Don’t take the events literally.
This is how religions survive, even in Scientific era

In the same way Jehovah destroyed the nation of Egypt with the use of 10 plagues
An Almighty god can free his people in an instant with infinite ways. Why negotiate and bargain with the Pharoah and punish the innocent people with all those plagues. A very silly and horrific fairly tale

The Bible is total nonsense. We can't make sense out of nonsense. Then why take the pains to investigate.
