Will there ever be another campaign like the 2006 one with kn37 ("The End of False Religion Is Near!")?
by Magnum inremember the 2006 tract campaign with kingdom news 37 - the end of false relgion is near!?
it seems to me that jwdom has changed to the point that there will not be anymore such campaigns.
it seems that the new rebranded jwdom is too soft for such a campaign; it's too feel-good, happy-clappy, and mainstream.. i just can't imagine a tract campaign like that coming from the new jwdom.

WT fails to understand than democracies around the world have guaranteed freedom of religion and worship established by constitution, and undemocratic regimes like Saudi Arabia have official state religion. Therefore, no attack on the religion would materialize from either groups. -

Jesus died for US...technically
by enigma1863 infor god so loved the world he gave his only begotten son and then took him back.
that's not love, its a big legal loophole.
people have technically died in the past, and by the standards of diagnosing death in bible times you could definitely beat 48 hrs and return.

Ransom sacrifice of human life is foreigner to the Jewish faith; therefore, Christianity never made sense to Jews and is utterly rejected as nonsense. Another problem with the loophole in the Christianity is the bridge (Jesus) over the abyss (sin) to reach G-d. Judaism does not teach this concept because there is no mediator between anyone and the G-d. This was invented by Paul to make Jewish faith obsolete and provide salvation in the mind of the masses only through his invention. Lastly, why would G-d needs to pay a debt to Himself by sacrificing his son or 1/3rd of His existence... -

WHY MONOTHEISM WINS the historical competition among gods and beliefs
by TerryWalstrom inamong the hundreds (if not thousands) of competing religious beliefs, practices, rituals, and faiths in the developing years of early christianity--and arguably against all odds--christian monotheism won.
for awhile, the thoroughly pagan roman empire became officially christianized.. why?.
could it be a simple fact?.

While ago, I read one reason why Christianity grew through the Roman empire was the role of women in the religion. Roman society was male dominated where women did not had much rights and were treated as a property of their husbands or fathers. They were responsible for running the household choirs while men were either busy on front line, administration, and business. Christianity was a religion of the Antiquity where it deliberately targeted women as their converts. This can be traced to missionary work of Jesus (preaching to Samaritan woman, Mary Magdalene, and other women), which was something neither Jews or Greco-Roman society did. Women were surprised when Jesus approached them and carry the idea of early Christianity toward their offspring. Early Christians legends is full of women who were vital for securing foothold of the new religion. Constantine was probably most influenced by his mother Helena and many supporter of the Christianity during the transition period (300-400AD) had Christian mothers while they followed foothold of their pagan father. St. Augustine was another one.
Women are traditionally more religious and dedicated to the faith than men. Christianity utilized on this by targeting them in missionary works. Roman men were not as acceptable to new religion due social and economic structure. They needed to worship an emperor and Roman gods played a role in the administration as a patron of various institutions. Refusing such patronage would lead to end of their political career, especially in the army. Roman military was the last institution of the empire that was Christianized. Julian Apostate was last successful pagan Roman emperor and military leader (+363) where both Germanic and Persian armies were afraid of him. After his death, there was a huge purge of pagan military from the army, culminating during Stilicho (+408) and thus weakening Roman army during Gothic invasion. Rome was sacked two years later for the first time in 800 years.

The intcal13 dataset: The best evidence I know of for C14 dating.
by bohm incarbon 14 dating is often dismissed as relying on the assumption the c14/c12 ratio in the past has been comparable to the present, however what is rarely acknowledged is this assumption can be checked.
the way the assumption is checked is by finding a system which admits dating independent of c14.
popular choices are dendrochronology, where tree-rings are counted and by matching variation in tree-ring width across trees it is possible to build a chronology stretching back 12000 years, or varvas, where yearly variations in sediment deposits in lakes admit chronologies to be build stretching back tens of thousands of years.

C14 is not only the one that is used in radiometric dating and commonly used for dating material under 50K old. There are dozens others that can be used to measure Earth's age and even estimate the age of the universe. Either way Earth is much older than 6000 years.

Humans doing this crap for 2000 years. 16th century was full of these charts, graphs and images, some of them became a popular in the yearly almanac. Emperor Rudolph II employed entire office dedicated to it 400 years ago. -

How is Genesis scientifically incorrect?
by EndofMysteries ini'll add many things in the bible i don't agree with, but the bible is a collection of books.
now to make sure i'm reading as closely to what is written in genesis, i look at this hebrew interlinear, because english translating and rearranging of words can change it.

Genesis is myth and nice fable stories that tribal communities used to share around the camp fire at the night. Nothing more. Earth, Sun, Moon are here because were are leftover of the supernova explosion. Genesis does not say it.
Life on Earth evolve from primitive to complex organism. Genesis did not know that pollen flowering flowers originated in mesozoic era, so there was no fruits bearing trees. Pollen did not exist until middle of the Triassic, yet we have animals and complex living organism. Entire order of the creation is wrong in Genesis.

Drake, I am not sure where you get your references from but
- Ottoman Empire did not exist at the time of I. Crusades
- The main sponsor was Greek Emperor
- Ottoman Empire did not crossed into Europe until 14th century
- Asia Minor which was the foundation of future Ottoman Empire lies in Asia (hence the continent got name from it) not in Europe
- I know enough of European history so I don't need a link from wikipedia
- Your link from wikipedia does not mention single word of Ottoman empire
- Sultanate of Rum which was the main intended destination of the I. Crusade was not Ottoman, but Persian heritage.
- Ottoman Empire was founded in 1299, while last IX. Crusades happened in 1271/1272

So many historical mistakes Jonathan Drake. Crusades were originally called by Greek Emperor to fight Sultanate of Rum which they lost to it at the battle of Manzikert (1071), and they had problem to recapture the their territory back. Constantinople appealed to help to the West, which just recently was officially split between Catholic and Orthodox churches (1054). I Crusades war born. It not against the Ottoman empire as it did not exist as the state entity. Initial success boosted moral and several crusades were waged to either preserve or increase the size of the knight kingdoms in Levant. For the next 200 years, Crusades fought Byzantine Empire (1204), Ayyubids in Egypt, Suljuks in Syria, and so on. When Ottoman empire emerged from consolidation of territories in the Little Asia around 1300, Crusades were in history. Do not mix with Crusades against Ottomans who were invading Balkans in 15th century. Ottomans took large part of Europe until they were defeated in 1683 at Vienna. Ottomans depopulated large part of Hungary, Romania, and chunk of Poland during that time. In Czech Republic more than 100,000 were taken into the slavery in 1666. Countless cities from England to France to Italy were plundered by Ottomans and their population sold to slavery. Ottoman Empire was extremely cruel and one of the largest massacres in Central Europe before WWII occurred due Ottomans. Widespread slaughter of POW outside Vienna is one of them. -

Kulotti79, in Czech we have saying when they trying to catch a bird, they sing nice to him. Moment you are in the cage and door locked behind you in the name of spiritual baptism, all the sweet talk and singing is gone. Any questioning of their doctrine is strictly forbidden and you do not question FDS. Nobody will damn rat if you are dying on the street anymore at all once you are baptized. I grew up in that cult, have a huge JW family and I know. My favorite JW hypocrisy time was when CO visited our KH and mention to reach out people were inactivate. Someone had mentioned elderly lonely sister, one of the women who never married, and available after Armageddon, somewhat disorganized, not always on program and never on time. They tried to locate her, but nobody knew where she lived in small city, but they eventually find out that she died at home and her body was discovered by neighbors by smell and was buried at the city expenses. Nobody gave the f- about her. Even some of the women in the KH commented that she may not be resurrected because she was not really good JW and doubtful over doctrine and may died as apostate and thus forever condemned.
As about being gay, JWs do not are what is your sexual orientation as long you do not act on it and do not have a physical relationship. I knew couple gay JWs who even were persecuted by communist regime for their faith and were gay and feminine. One turned out crazy and was stalking young men which was cause for his DFs and other broke up from the cult and lives with his partner while his parent (one is elder) never accepted it. The reasoning behind the JW mind is that you can be gay, but as long you stay celibate until the arrival of the new world, where you will be fixed and turned into fully productive heterosexual. It should not take long, time is running out for this world, Armageddon is about to happen, really, it is just behind the corner... since 1879!
