3 years of study, Just found out!

hello friends, .

i would like some advice from those that are inpartial, and are familiar with the teachings of jw.

i studied with a wonderful jw couple weekly for 3 years.

Run away as far you can. I grew in JW and seen different stages and teologial, doctrinal changes over these years, that current JW organization is not the same the one I attended in the 70's and 80's. While it is nice and certainly honarable that JW maintain strict neutrality and does not interfere with political affairs of the world, it is also necessary to say, they abuse it for their own personal benefit. They ride on free social services, welfare nests, charity, food bank; and whine how this world belong to Satan. They obviously do not mind abusing the system and the benefits, while avoiding sharing any responsibility from other taxpayers. They are hypocrites. I know JW who never worked entire life, their hands are soft from lack of real work, they live in public housing, recieve benefits and welfare, and get free food delivery from a Catholic charity while spending their day by preaching and soul fishing.

JW will study with you only at the beginning to entice you to the organization. Once you became a member, all studies cases and you are obligated accept whatever teaching, doctrine, and thinking is spewn from the WT organization. No questions are allowed, no independent Bible studies, no examination of beliefs and articles. Publications became a precedence over reall relationship with God. Entire theology revolves around preaching and distributing literature, not to serve God and will not answer you with real life troubles.

Once you start to question any doctrines, you will be ostracized as a troublemaker. People who profess a free will and critical thinking are usually isolated from the pack. The KH is unforgiving and will remember your questioning for years and decades. People get disfellowshiped from self study of Bible, or question older publications. Forget about regular failing as any humans had. If you do not have excessive family ties in KH, you will be out. My cousins and his entire messed family from my evil aunt had so many issues with laws, taxes, etc, and never got DF and they are elders with all extensive family. Other cousin walked away and my aunt for the rest of her life never talked to him nor ever had dealt with his grandchildren. She called them pawn of Satan to weaken her faith.

At the end, you will need to make own decision, if you want to serve publishing house or not. You got free will.

1914 to 2014--Has Jesus been ruling for a 100 years?

will october 2014 mark 100 years of kingdom rule?.

1914 date is one the weakest point of JW theology, because it is so enshrined in nonsense. It became liability and burden for the organization to maintain membership and entice new members. How many people would awe and say wow, Jesus is rulling this earth for 100 years? Everyone with IQ over 80 will see through this nonsense

Has the Governing Body Become More or Less Authoritarian in Recent Years?

it seems to me that this is a no-brainer but i have been out since '96.. so based on your personal experiences what do you think?.

lots more - a bit more - just the same as always - less - a lot less?.

if you think more or lots more can you spot a time or event when it started to change?.

I left 20 years ago, and I think they became more totalitarian after 1994. Rest of my family is still in, but I hear from them complaining that the KH is constantly asking them for money, money, free food and cook out, loundry for DO, and free rides into field service.

anyone else bored with religion versus atheism or is it just me?.

i'm planning to go to greece in may.. i'm thinking about planting rocket and beetroot in my garden this year because they are getting rather expensive to buy.. this week i want to make chocolate refridgerator cakes.

some for my daughter who is coming home from uni this weekend and some to take in to work to give away with free tea and coffee because it's national libraries day on saturday.. i just finished reading the humans by matt haig which was brilliant.

I am turning my yard into my Garden of Eden without waiting for the big "A". Previous owners did not cared about the yard, so I have planted about 50 shurbs and put new lawn and flowerbeds. It is never ending project, but it relax me from the hours in the office. I wish I could figure out how to insert pics of some of the flowers. I like rhododendron with their big flowers. I had notices that my bloom profoundly every other year. I have also rhododendron that bloom yellow and orange. I lost one rhododendron due summer heat that was from Caucasus. I have several camellias, from which three were imported by local Camellia society. However, they will not bloom in spring as the polar vertex burned their buds and they were too stressed this winter. I was never lucky with mountain laurels, loved them for their flowers and see them all over the Appalachians. I have three left under big magnolia, so far they are alive. They are the biggest disappointment. I have gardenias facing the north, they do not like direct sun. I put them among french hydrangeas, so they bloom the same time. This year I want to cut two trees that posses hazard due leaning, but the tree cutting is so expensive. My biggest enemy in the garden are squirrels that pick on everything. The best way to deal with unwanted weed is herbicide. I learned the hard way as I had poision ivy and had to go to emergency room. Plus previous owners planted some asiatic flowers that are superinvasive and when they get picked in, they cause skin rashes. After two years of fighting them, I went the chemical warfare against them. Also Xanthipe, I would recommend to rent dethatcher and loosen up the top soil and destroy the runners.

I am ready for spring, which should arrive here at the end of February or March. I have planted a lot of bulbs so I like watching my croccus, hyacints, tulips, and daffodils to come up. Spring is blessing for my garden where I have dozens of rhododendrons, camellias, gardenias, mountain laurels, and azelas blooming from March to May. I am hoping that polar vertex did not damaged them. I have several projects in mind, want to cut two trees that a leaning and plant some shrubs there. I want extend driveway to the fence. Right now due cold weather, I am playing my Skyrim game that I got on Xmas.

being back in college after leaving the borg, one of the required classes for a degree at my college is ethics.

after learning a few things, i am curious where morality and ethics is heading for the future of humanity.

i wish i could find the source again, but several weeks ago i recalled reading a transcript of a very old document that talked about when christianity was being spread in europe, it brought civility and community.

French and Russian Revolutions have nothing to do with a secret cults. French Revolution was outcome of financial crisis that gripped France since 1787 where American default to French creditors deepened depression. France had antiquated political and economic system, inherited from Louis XIV and XV, where Louis XVI became an accidental king unable to resolve crisis. The French Revolution started as leadership tried to solve financial crisis.

Russian Revolution was a result of third major defeat in Russian history (Crimean and Japanese wars), when Germans overrun Russian position on Eastern Front and invaded Baltic states. Germans were slowely and surely approching a capital of the Russian empire and the Tzar was unable to reverse the defeat. German crossed into Baltic state and Ukraine, and the Revolution was an attempt of the Russian leadership to avoid total defeat. For that reason they sought for armistance and gave up control of Baltic states, Finland, and Poland. Lennin and communists rode on popular wave of masses that wanted to end war and possibly humilitating defeat. Nothing in both French and Russian revolutions were about cults.

Were you 'alive in '75' and how was that year for you?

i was a junior borgite in 1975. i remeber looking at the calendar at work in october and thinking: 'armageddon isn't here yet.....and it doesn't feel like it will be here anytime soon either!'.

i was surprised that jehovah hadn't obeyed the superior command to bring the big 'a' as instructed to him by fred franz.

punkofnice, I do not believe that JW and WT can have their theology without some fixed date. From early origin of the organization till today, they been running their show and sham based on some key historical event as a proof and validation of their own existence. They believed that Justinian sack of Rome was prophecied, so did Napoleon's imprisonment of Pope in 1799:

We have thus shown that 1799 began the period called the Time of the End; that in this time Papacy is to be consumed piece-meal; and that Napoleon took away not only Charlemagne's gifts of territory (one thousand years after they were made), but also, afterward, the Papacy's civil jurisdiction in the city of Rome, which was recognized nominally from the promulgation of Justinian's decree, A.D. 533, but actually from the overthrow of the Ostrogothic monarchy A.D. 539--just 1260 years before 1799. This was the exact limit of the time, times and a half of its power, as repeatedly defined in prophecy. [Studies in the Scriptures]

WT need date, as they had 1799, 1874, 1914, 1925, 1975, etc. They cannot justify their theology without specific year as they are end doom group with all effort dedicated to preach the threat of the "A". WT will eventually abandon 1914 and will whitewash the nonsense and disappear it in the history. Right now it is still liability and there are many aged boomers who joined in the decades when 1914 was the beginning of the invisible Jesus's reign. Until this generation is alive, they need to keep 1914, but it will not be abandoned overnight.

Anyone else having a bad few weeks??

i seem to have a really crap couple of months with stuff going wrong.

people being nasty to me.

i saw a neighbour of mine today (who i fell out with 18 months ago), to whom i've since apologised for losing my temper with, but today, when i smiled at her, she looked at me daggers!!!

My life is always rollocoaster, have good months and bad months. I trying to be in the control of the situation, and prepared for the worst and expect the best. I feel the same way that people do not care much about anything and anybody. I have certainly bad winter with different issues like job uncertainity through watching a lot of layoffs, crashed investment in January, and shallow relationships with friends. I live opposite site of the globe than my family, who are JW and will not really help me. As an immigrant in foreigner country, I am always outsider, have an accent and people constantly judge me for it.

I am so ready for spring that I can spent on my garden, plant shrubs and flowers, work out, beat games on Xbox or PS, make every day count. Winters are always depressing. At least I have enjoyable job and good workplace, so it is not source of my stress.
