  jw child cured according to bbc this morning.

  if you remember the child's parents took him out of the southampton, uk hospital against the doctors' advice to have proton beam therapy for his brain tumour in prague.

  I believe what best medical cancer center said in the Czech Republic over NHS and CPS in UK who looked like jack asses over entire incident. They were trying to communicate with the British counterparts for several weeks who were not willing to hand over the care to the Prague Proton Center, which is btw BEST radiation therapy center in Europe and third in the world after Loma Linda and Mayo Clinic. There was serious breakdown of communication, but in the British side, who thought who knew best. Parents defied. If they were wrong they will be still held in the prison either in Spain or UK. It was not until public outcry and international embarrassment that

  1) Got Aysha to Prague to receive treatment

  2) Got parents released from jail in Spain

  3) And showed that UK cancer treatment lags behind the rest of Europe where Proton Therapy is a standard cancer care. NHS was not believing that it is standard because UK does not have single center until 2018.

  Without much of the publicity that case received, who knows how little Ashya would fare. Any case, the issue was that parents sought a best possible treatment and British prevented them from doing so and chased them across continent while getting embarrassed both in Spain and Czech Republic doing so.
  

  Proton Therapy is NOT alternative treatment. There is another one as good as in Prague in Munich and two other are in process to open in Central Europe within next two years. Kings family should sue for wrongful arrests and I am not surprised they do not want to return to UK. Czech press had covered the case much extensively. It was not after public outcry that British hospital decided six weeks later to sent medical records to Prague which were being requested by PTC since July but all these requests were ignored. Parents did what was right, they did not deserved to by haunted by British law enforcement, and had their name smeared.

  " i told him "humans make mistakes, they were wrong by claiming that.

  Jehovah name was not used in the Antiquity nor in early medieval times. Jews do not use it. It did not appear until late 13th century, and it was not widely used in the Catholic Christianity. On the other hand Protestants churches used it extensively since the 18th century, especially the one of the English origin. Many traveling preaches in the 18th century America used the name, and appears regularly in the publications and bible translations since at least 1750, for example in the work of Julius Bate (+1771) and many other Protestants under influence of Hutchinson. Jehovah name also penetrated into Scandinavian Protestant denominations and was used by Swedish mystic Swedenborg (+1772). Either way the usage of the name is deeply tied with religious awakening of the Protestants in the 18th century and Jehovah witnesses borrowed something that was widely used by one time very popular theologians century earlier. Hardly anything they had invented.

  This case received widespread media attention the Czech Republic. I hope little Ashya recovers and lives normal childhood. If his parents did not stand against arrogance and ill-will of bureaucracy, he may have been dead.

  Lets hope, the boy is cured and the cancer would not return. Proton Radiation Therapy is a lifesaver. My friend had one done in Prague couple months ago and had bad prognosis. I will be heading to his wedding in summer. Last four years I lost two my female friends to breast cancer. Horrible disease and I wish there would be a real cure.

  Another funny things on the right wing parties in USA and in Europe who think that Russia is guarantor of Christianity. Orthodox Christianity never reformed, it is backward, reactionary and stuck in thinking of the late Antiquity. It is not compromising nor interested in debate. In medieval times, Russians and Orthodox countries rather surrendered to Mongols that accept help from the West and confront their faith. There was this huge painting where we had under communist time in the text book where Alexander Nevsky surrenders to Mongols in exchange for protection of his Christianity against Catholic Europe. In 1415 Council of Konstanz several times had interest to unify Christianity after Schism in 1054. They even sent Czech missionary, Jerome of Prague to ensure equal treatment of the eastern Churches. Only Kievan patriarch was interested to attend. Numerous popes were interested in negotiation with Greek and Orthodox churches, but all these were never answered. Idealist from the right are as naive as the left was in 1920 who immigrate to Russia only to be shot or sent to gulags. Catholic church went through numerous reforms (Cluny, St. Benedict, St. Bernard, Schism, Lateran councils, and faced pressure from Reformation). Protestant Reformations are chapters on its own.

  At any case, Russia has huge Muslim population with extensive birth rate from Caucasus to southern Russia to Central Russia of Tatarstan. More than 150,000 people in Russia died since 1994 when the war and insurgency in the south started. Much more than in Balkan wars and as much as in Syria. War with Ukraine and confrontation with entire West will wear out Russia. And the right wing want to side with totalitarian Russia for their own political ideology as the communist bastards in the past.

  FTS, every Russian and Soviet despot with exception of Gorbachev had extensive support of Russian population. They just loved them. This was even unbelievable even for other communist countries. In Central Europe dictators are very rare. A.H. was an exception who fanaticized and deceived his nations. Today's Germans do not feel much about returning into ideology of National Socialism. Russians do, they want recreation of USSR, but even with less national freedom to suppress possible disintegration. France had also its dictatorship under Jacobins. Yet, they do not dream about bringing guillotine and exporting their republicanism as they did during the Wars of I. Coalition.

  Russia does not have strong economy, it is shell of former USSR. It does not have alliance nor ally. Because China voiced support to it, it does not equal alliance. Czechoslovakia had widespread support from antisoviet socialist countries in 1968 like China, Yugoslavia, and Albania (it withdrew from Warsaw Pact on protest), they were not its ally, nor there was whatsoever military treaty nor support. They complained with the invasion, but that was the most they did. Russia has nothing in the term of economy to influence the world at this time. Its GDP is equal level of Italy. Its exports in much smaller than Netherlands. It is 3rd world country with nukes. China would not sacrifice itself on behalf of Russia to piss USA. Money is where it matters, and Russia is running out of them. They would be lucky if their currency does not totally collapse and they would not resort to barter and rations.

  Russia will kick around, and if not stopped, they will occupy everyone who does not have nukes. As we used to say under communists, that Russia border with anyone who she feels like to. However, due uncritical admiration of everything Russian, they can count on widespread support in the West and elsewhere who see it as some kind of good and holy country meaning the best. When I traveled during the Cold War in the West, I had hard time to explain that we did not like communism, nor want Russians to be there, nor anyone had interest to be a part of Russia. Many Westerners did not understand it. You are more than welcome to live there. I would rather be homeless man in NYC or Montreal than living in country controlled by Russia. Hundreds of thousands of Czechoslovaks, Hungarians, and Poles who run from Soviet/Russian control would agree with me on that.

  DJS, Russia resembles much of the interwar Nazi Germany by destabilizing their neighboring countries. FTS and many other Russian apologists think that it is OK, because everyone has done that. Two wrongs never make it right.

  Russia was always a country with dictator. The population will consider him something like holy father, or Vatushka, who blesses their country (while they live in misery). And they worship him and they will die for him. Putin is destroying Russia, but they do not care. They love him and adore him. And orthodox Christianity supports this status position. Freedom, individualism, personal responsibility for own well being, and democracy never came from society which is derived from it. Actually, they oppose any freedom and democracy due losing control over the population. There is no single country in the world with Orthodox Christianity that has prosperous economy or stable political system. I think I have been every of them from Greece through Balkans and Russia to regions along the Black Sea: Greece is leaching EU. Bulgaria and Romania are 3rd world countries. Ukraine and Russia are engaged in warfare. Serbs were in constant war with their neighbors and still posses threat to Balkan instability. Where are Slovenia (Catholic), Estonia (Protestant), Czech (Agnostic) and all these Orthodox countries now? They were under the same political system, yet only one group is prospering and improving their living standard without the need to occupy and invade others.
  

  Russians are driven by messianic complex (which BTW is known since mid 19th century and well documented by numerous people studying Russian subject). No Slavic nation likes Russia, because there is always threat of enslavement. In August 1848 one the most prominent Slavic writer in Austrian Empire, Karel Havlíček Borovský, wrote after his visit of Russia: "Russia can be the foremost country in the world, if free and ruled by laws. However, it is not, and thus must be treated for us, free Slavs in the [Austrian] monarchy, as the most utter enemy."

  FTS, Russia never was prosperous country, it was always mess. Read what travelers wrote about it in the 18th, 19th, and 20th century. I was there. I know how this country look. I drove to Moscow from Central Europe and back. I was at the Black Sea region. It is backward country and not amount of nuclear weapons they possess would change that. Even back than under communism was officially published that living standard in Russia was on per level of South American country. All Slavs are better off than Russia. Czechs, Poles, Slovenes, and Slovaks have much higher living standard. Your FTS fascination that China and Russia would control the world and master of West and USA belongs to fairy tales. Back 50 years ago Russians used to claim that will surpass USA. Today they will be happy if their economy and worthless ruble would not collapse and they wont be back to rations as I had seen back then. USA/UK/EU can destroy Russian currency by ending their convertibility at NY, London, and Frankfurt.
