Will there ever be another campaign like the 2006 one with kn37 ("The End of False Religion Is Near!")?
by Magnum inremember the 2006 tract campaign with kingdom news 37 - the end of false relgion is near!?
it seems to me that jwdom has changed to the point that there will not be anymore such campaigns.
it seems that the new rebranded jwdom is too soft for such a campaign; it's too feel-good, happy-clappy, and mainstream.. i just can't imagine a tract campaign like that coming from the new jwdom.

jhine, Christianity is dying breed in many countries in the world and their share in Middle East had decreased significantly since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire 100 years ago. Do you realize Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt used to have significant Christian population and today is it is a shell of its former glory. -

Jesus died for US...technically
by enigma1863 infor god so loved the world he gave his only begotten son and then took him back.
that's not love, its a big legal loophole.
people have technically died in the past, and by the standards of diagnosing death in bible times you could definitely beat 48 hrs and return.

Drake, Christianity of today is different from Christianity of the 16th century, from 1054 split, or from being the minority faith of the Roman empire population. Any case, Judaism predates Christianity and my point is that no Jews could accept a concept of redemption by Jesus because it never made sense to them. This was the same in the 1st century or today. Judaism for much of his history stresses emphasis on direct relationship with G-d and there is no need anyone for paying up for your own sin. Everyone is responsible only for its own sin, it is not inherited (yes, Jews do not believe in original Adamic sin), G-d cannot sacrifice himself to pay debt to Himself. Again you fail to see what Judaism was and is about. Judaism also does not have centralized worship nor have central organization responsible for interpretation of their writings and faith. Jews do not travel to Jerusalem either to do sacrifice, nor stoning disobedient children. -

Drake, if you do not know about Judaism, please do not comment it. I am married to Jew, and all my in-laws are Jewish and some of them are Orthodox. Judaism does not have mediator. Judaism does not teach it. Period. You do not need it. There is nobody between you and G-d; therefore, Jesus sacrifice does not make sense in the eyes of Jews, their faith, and their cultural context. You comment my post on topic you HAVE NO CLUE! I stated that Jews do not accept Jesus. This is fact. Anyone to be professing Jew cannot reconcile Christian nonsense of Jesus Christ. Whatever is written in NT including in John 14 have no whatsoever authority for Jews as it is not considered a part of their holy writings. Somewhere in your post you failed to see though you evangelical indoctrination that there is entire religion that predates Christianity, have books that Christian misused for their own faith, and yet you see them wrong, because you believe your faith is right.

When a Witness claim the uniqueness of Bible and its accurate prophecies!
by abiather inwith the bulletin of atomic scientists moving its iconic doomsday clock up 2 minutes on 23.01.2015 (which means we are just three minutes closer to midnight in comparison to 17 minutes to midnight in 1991), and rapturewatch.net/timelines.htm predicting the end of the world as early as 2017, subject of last days is getting heated up again..
next time you have a witness boasts about the uniqueness of biblical propheciesespecially about last days, you can point the following photographic description of our times found in srimad bhagavatam, one of the ancient scriptures written even before the bible:.
1) religion, truthfulness, cleanliness, tolerance, mercy, duration of life, physical strength and memory will all diminish day by day because of the powerful influence of the age of kali (age of unrigteousness).12.2.1.

"Communism came as a replacement of tyranny, only to become more tyrannical later"
Communism is tyranny because its ideology works on suppression of individual freedom. Countries that experienced communism eventually evolved from brutal form of Stalin oppression to leisure-free communism later. There is a huge difference between communist countries in 1950's versus 1960's or 1985 when this ideology was dying off.
Hospitals were either for profit today, 50 years ago or 100 years ago. For that reason most of the countries established single payer system or have regulation. Until 1920's when Europeans countries started health insurance, how you think the healthcare system worked? It was either on voluntary pay, charity, donations, or community service, or you have to pay and even go to debtor prison.

There was never golden age, it is only illusion of the future generations. Romans thought in their peak time that the golden age was the early republic where there was no distinctive class boundaries, and every Roman had a field around the forum where they meet for discuss tribal problem and judge based on the 12 tablets.
"Government does not suffer from debt. Do you have any idea about US Federal debt? Trillions and Trillions."
You sound like the crazy Charles T. Russell in the Studies of the Scriptures where he analyzed how much the world governments owned in 1880's.

WT fails to understand than democracies around the world have guaranteed freedom of religion and worship established by constitution, and undemocratic regimes like Saudi Arabia have official state religion. Therefore, no attack on the religion would materialize from either groups. -

Ransom sacrifice of human life is foreigner to the Jewish faith; therefore, Christianity never made sense to Jews and is utterly rejected as nonsense. Another problem with the loophole in the Christianity is the bridge (Jesus) over the abyss (sin) to reach G-d. Judaism does not teach this concept because there is no mediator between anyone and the G-d. This was invented by Paul to make Jewish faith obsolete and provide salvation in the mind of the masses only through his invention. Lastly, why would G-d needs to pay a debt to Himself by sacrificing his son or 1/3rd of His existence... -

WHY MONOTHEISM WINS the historical competition among gods and beliefs
by TerryWalstrom inamong the hundreds (if not thousands) of competing religious beliefs, practices, rituals, and faiths in the developing years of early christianity--and arguably against all odds--christian monotheism won.
for awhile, the thoroughly pagan roman empire became officially christianized.. why?.
could it be a simple fact?.

While ago, I read one reason why Christianity grew through the Roman empire was the role of women in the religion. Roman society was male dominated where women did not had much rights and were treated as a property of their husbands or fathers. They were responsible for running the household choirs while men were either busy on front line, administration, and business. Christianity was a religion of the Antiquity where it deliberately targeted women as their converts. This can be traced to missionary work of Jesus (preaching to Samaritan woman, Mary Magdalene, and other women), which was something neither Jews or Greco-Roman society did. Women were surprised when Jesus approached them and carry the idea of early Christianity toward their offspring. Early Christians legends is full of women who were vital for securing foothold of the new religion. Constantine was probably most influenced by his mother Helena and many supporter of the Christianity during the transition period (300-400AD) had Christian mothers while they followed foothold of their pagan father. St. Augustine was another one.
Women are traditionally more religious and dedicated to the faith than men. Christianity utilized on this by targeting them in missionary works. Roman men were not as acceptable to new religion due social and economic structure. They needed to worship an emperor and Roman gods played a role in the administration as a patron of various institutions. Refusing such patronage would lead to end of their political career, especially in the army. Roman military was the last institution of the empire that was Christianized. Julian Apostate was last successful pagan Roman emperor and military leader (+363) where both Germanic and Persian armies were afraid of him. After his death, there was a huge purge of pagan military from the army, culminating during Stilicho (+408) and thus weakening Roman army during Gothic invasion. Rome was sacked two years later for the first time in 800 years.

The intcal13 dataset: The best evidence I know of for C14 dating.
by bohm incarbon 14 dating is often dismissed as relying on the assumption the c14/c12 ratio in the past has been comparable to the present, however what is rarely acknowledged is this assumption can be checked.
the way the assumption is checked is by finding a system which admits dating independent of c14.
popular choices are dendrochronology, where tree-rings are counted and by matching variation in tree-ring width across trees it is possible to build a chronology stretching back 12000 years, or varvas, where yearly variations in sediment deposits in lakes admit chronologies to be build stretching back tens of thousands of years.

C14 is not only the one that is used in radiometric dating and commonly used for dating material under 50K old. There are dozens others that can be used to measure Earth's age and even estimate the age of the universe. Either way Earth is much older than 6000 years.
