panhandlegirl, sorry for your loss. I totally relate to your feeling as I consider pets a part of my family. I had a kitty that died 18 years old and it was sad to see him go. I have him buried at my backyard and I still miss him. I wish have him back to play and hug. Last time before that I was so devastated was a death of my father, so for me a pet is my family member and I totally understand your sadness. Unfortunatelly my JW family does not understand why I was so upset with a death of my pet.

Window-washer is the cover of Feb 2015 WT, "How to enjoy your work!" Hahaha!!
by EndofMysteries in.
after all the jokes and satire on this website about jw's only being able to amount to window washers and house cleaners, the cover page of "how to enjoy your work" showing a window washer and cleaner in the back ground.
i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.

zodiac and the bible
by Crazyguy ini have seen and read plenty of stuff on the net that implies many of the things in the bible are actually refuring to the zodiac.
one example would be that in the new testament the 'end of the world' phrphrase is actually a miss translation and it should say 'end of the age' and that this age that is being talked about is the change to the new sign of the zodiac which occurred at about 125 ad to the sign of picees.
has anyone done any extensive research on this theory that ma y things referred to in the bible is actually talking about the zodiac signs etc.

I heard that already in KH around 1990, which suppose to say the end of Pisces and beginning of Aquarius. However, there is no universal concensus were one constellation starts and other begins among astrologers, except by boundaries defined by IAU 1929. But again, these boundaries are invented by our imagination to describe celestial sphere.

Oil prices falling will put shale drilling out of business. It is profitable at $55-$65, but not below this price. I keep telling to my collegues that the boom is half way through its business cycle in 2012 and it seems that it we will see the end of it in 2015/2016.

Caedes, the material is much, much deeper than the aquifers. Ringwoodite occurs as abundant mineral deep in the Earth's mantle, about 300 miles below us. There is temperature ranging at 1300F, which would boil al the water, but due pressure, the water molecules break appart and creates hydroxide ions which are trapped in the crystal structure of the material. Mantle represents 85% of the Earth's weight and mass, so it is really a huge reservoir of hydroxide ions.

This issue been debated here all the time, but one things people who add links into these articles to proof OT nonsense do not read these sites too well. The water there is not in any liquid form, but is trapped or bounded in the crystals of the rocks. The water does escape into the sufrace through volcanism and plate tectonics. Nonetheless, there is no ocean below the crust due high pressure or temperature.

JW's just like Nazi SS troops?????
by Crazyguy inis is not true that just like ss troops guarding and operating in a concentration camp jw's would just do whatever they are told?
ss troops were told to kill jews and most just went along with it without question.
it scares me to think that most jw's would go along with whatever they're told by their leaders without question..this is one of the reasons why i come here almost every day to see and read posts about whats going on in the religion, so i can be prepared to go save my family from this cult if i need to...

I am not sure about SS comparision. JW believes that the their G-d and his angels will do the mass killing and batches like in Babi Yar, and they will just idle by signing hoshana. In my hometown during WWII, Germans were killing Jews and partisans on the outskirt of the city where they had orchestra playing music, while the slaugher went on. JWs would be these musicians.
However, if the cult leader told them to kill themselves, they would. They would follow their leader. They want to suffer martyrdom in the name of the WT and many will not hesitate to kill themselves for the truth. They wasted their life for WT, they would end their life for lie of WT.

I see JW individuals as gray. They dressed in gray colors, were living gray life. We used to call lonely JW females a gray mouse in KH. I associate the people with this color. Colors are also cultural. I lived in decade where red was not acceptable and there was total repulsion toward it due Soviet occupation. Later years with was sky blue or green as a symbol of political movements in 1990's. Pink used to be masculine color in the 18th century Europe all the way to the French revolution. Romans preferred purple or violet colors as a symbol of their wealth, while green is associated with Islam. For us guys, we have basic colors likes the 16 on old windows. Fuschia is flower that I plant in the spring. Peach is fruit, and pumpkin is veggie.. I do not associate it primary with the colors.

Terry, thank you for sharing your experience. Touching. I was too small to remember 1975, except being told by my JW relatives that the end is near and I do not have to worry about school or anything else because the end is comming.

JB, displaying open casket matter of personal opinion, cultural values, and traditions. I would never like to be paraded in the coffin, and I have seen a lot of open coffin funerals, some of them were not appropriate. We had a kid in the school that was run over by car. The family insisted having the funeral in the school, with open coffin, where his skull was visibly crushed and disfigured. Kids were throwing up all over, and teachers were running away; but parents stood there paying "respect".
I do not think dying in hospice is inhumane as comparision to long-term facility under ventilator. Many people go to hospital at the end stage case, because they do not know they will die there and they hope to die at home. My father went to hospital with his terminal cancer care to get treatment, he should be released two days later, but he died overnight unexpectedly. We did not know, so did he when I talked to him. You can also die in your bed at your house and be left there for days and weeks, before someone is going to miss you.
