nonsense. I do not care about WT publication as I am out for 20 years. I see much more nonsense with Christianity that utterly twisted meaning of OT for their religious beliefs. Anyone who studies Old Testament with a Jewish point of view will see how stupid, primitive, and lying Christianity is. I do not need to point out to inconsistency of the bible with finger pointing toward WT and JW organization nor associating other extreme, evangelical groups. Christianity itself is irrational belief system that would anyone with critical thinking skill reconsider its theology. Where to start? God paying debt to himself, original sin, God self-sacrificing one part or His son to salvation, Devil, Armageddon, Revelation, Virgin mother, 12 dudes and Messiah.... There are just too much problem with NT when it is analyzed by the Judaism that it cannot be ever reconciled with the OT.

Why do "Apostates/exjws" always go into "Watchtower-bashing" when you show them inconsistencies in the Bible?
by booker-t ini have noticed with "apostates/exjws" they always resort to "watchtower-bashing" whenever you show them inconsistencies of the bible.
we could be talking about contradictions, such as where did cain get his wife if adam, eve, abel, and cain were the only ones on earth?
the usual answer when they cannot answer will be "well the wt gave false prophecies in 1975".

The Watchtower Confirms that The "Faithful & Discreet Slave" in 1914 Were Prophets.
by objectivetruth inresponding to the question - who are the two witnesses mentioned in revelation chapter 11?.
"so in the fulfillment of revelation chapter 11, the anointed brothers who took the lead at the time of the establishment of gods kingdom in heaven in 1914 preached in sackcloth for three and a half years.
" (watchtower 2014 11/15 pp.28-30).

Studies in KH in the 1980's used to say that Two Witnesses were after 1918, not before. They were the group that was arrested and released in the spring of 1919 when Jesus inspected religion and find Rutherford gang to be the one to be married with. There were later changes in new light that claimed that these two witnesses started in fall of 1914, but this did not correspond exactly to 3.5 years when Rutherord was arrested for sedetion. The period when these men were held in prison was called the spiritual death of two prophets to be resurrected in 1919.

Scientists Should Not Dismiss Genesis So Quickly
by Chris Tann innasa discovery proves the bible scientifically accurate.
the debate.
for decades there has been a long standing debate between science and religion as to the validity of the biblical genesis account of creation.

The article was written by idiot Hutchins, evangelical preacher who is determined to prove -as all evangelicals do-, that Bible is literaly true in every verse, every word. Anyone who reads that book knows that it is not associated whatsoever with NASA nor has any support among peer review journals and articles. No educational and scientific organization supports it. There are so many errors in that article that anyone serious working for NASA would disapproved. For example the notion that 500 millions years that explosion of life was possible due large dry masses. Dry land existed well before, at least since 1.8 billions and geologists have names for these proto-continent. However, I do not feel to educate you as you have more trust in non-sense evangelical garbage over books that you can get from universities dedicated to geological history and astronomy.

JWs - A View From Outside
by Joe Grundy ini never was a jw (i make this point in - almost - every post) but having been brought up ('raised' for our us cousins) in a non-conformist fundy sect with 'rapture' aspirations, it wasn't that different.. i still have extended family members in it, or in that mindset, but we rarely discuss religion.
in particular, my sister and bil lost their son (my nephew) some years ago when he was just 13. their comfort is that he is in a 'better place' and i don't want to challenge that to them.. i keep up with all things jw here in this forum and maintain my academic interest and these are just my thoughts as an outsider, for what they are worth.. ime, those people who have heard of jws tend to lump them in with mormons and other crazies and have no knowledge or interest in them - other than to warn neighbours when they are about.. where i live should be prime 'witnessing' territory but they rarely come round, even in the recent leafletting campaign.
they are not as effective as the people who regularly call with the latest menus from the local curry/chinese/kebab houses.. on the occasions when jws have called, despite invitations to come in and have a cup of tea, etc., none has ever wanted to engage in conversation, far less progress to an invitation to a kh meeting or start a bible study (and i always present myself as an 'imterested householder').. my conversations with people in general and friends in the real world lead me to conclude that few people have heard of jws, those that have regard them as a minor irrevelant nuisance and that there is no interest in their message or beliefs.. a few months ago i did a 'drive-past' of the million pound seafront property in bangor, north wales that wt recently bought for use as a 'translation office' (ha ha!).

JWs are pursuing outdated model of proselytation that had worked 80-40 years ago, but does not work anymore. People are less interested in religion and even other religious groups suffered similar fate where the potential fish pond run out of any new fish. In older times, people would not mind to talk to stranger on the street, but in present society, this is impossible. People are too independent and individualistic which makes hard for JWs to penetrate beyond the human shell.

I have changed careers through the life, but always pursued in the field I like and have both earned my undergrad and postgrad in it. I changed job this year after 8 years in the same industry as I felt that I could not learn anything new and was not challenged enough. Career change is often hard. I left my job that had great team and I was respected leader. However, I knew I can do better and this was a reason for the change.
You should never leave job until you have something lined up. Job is money and money is security. The career path depends on your abilities, interests, and opportunities. I love history, but there are not jobs in it, so it is my hobby. Many people go into field to find out that there is no demand. If you consider nursing, ask what you want to do. It is still broad field. It is extremely demanding field that can cause burn out. Some field could allow you to choose specialization in nursing, occupational therapy, and so on. You can also consider going for some specialist and technician. One of my friend changed career in later part of his life as radiologist and he loves it. Look into the job market on line and what skills in healthcare are in demand. Figure out where you can stand out. While many people and many news say that nursing is always in demand, there are 200,000 in that field entering the job market every year.

I am sure it is not cultural concept, because it was very uncomfortable to call in Eastern Europe someone who is not related by blood as aunt and uncle. If it was used in the common street language as a slang, it always meant elderly citizen in the village. But for urban population this expression was definately no normal. Mr and Mrs were the standard. However, when my parents got involved with the cult in the 1970's we were required to call adults as aunt and uncle.

In the 1980's I used to hear that Armageddon will be next year or even sooner. The 70 years aniversary when Jesus selected his bride in 1919 was approaching. Yet, 30 years later, I am still here.

I was in 1991 in DC in Prague-Strahov with 80,000 JWs. It was brutally hot in the pan as it was in the middle of the summer. Sisters wore turtle neck blouses and it was not appropriate to even show elbow. Skirts were often dragged on the floor. I remember that American elderettes were with their fashion out of the style due extremely bright red colors, big hairdo, and expensive handbags. The women in Strahov where something I seen on old painting some old baroque paintings where except their face, everything was covered up, even in the summer. Definitelly the cult has evolved. The local newspapers always picked on JW women distributing literature to be standing with their stretched out sweaters and turtle necks, and they were a big joke for the media due this appearance, especially in Eastern Europe, where women do not dress modestly.

I Waited Until My Wedding Night To Lose My Virginity And I Wish I Hadn't...
by Divergent ini found this article interesting & just wanted to share.
after going through my teenage years trying to be the perfect jw, i realized that trying to live up to the standards imposed on me have been for worse & not for better.
i was feeling miserable, repressed, unfulfilled, with a great lack of self confidence & self esteem.

Also virginity is bad for women due higher risk of breast cancer. Having lost two friends recently to it, and one of them was single and never married, I do not think there is much value in keeping virginity intact. Nuns have one of the highest incidence of breast cancer.
