In light of that idiotic JW video, how can you even pretend to be a Witness? My advice is to just tell your wife that based on that video, you are going to discontinue going to meetings, field service, etc. Just Stop Going (TM). Tell her she is free to continue attending but you are backing out. Don't be critical of the GB or JW doctrine. If the elders push for an explanation or want to question you, just say 'iI don't want to discuss the matter. It is my personal business. Don't contact me again unless I request it.'. So it will be a win-win....you get to be free of Watchtower BS, and your wife still gets to do her JW activities. Tell her that's how it will be. End of discussion. Good luck!!

Donation of blood fractions
by why144000 inthis may be the wrong area for this but here goes.. if you went to a bank and told them " i don't have an account with you, i never will have an account with you and i will tell people you are a terrible bank" then ask not for a loan from them, but a gift of a lot of money, how do you think they would respond?.
yet, witnesses now have the the ability to take blood fractions from the blood bank without ever contributing to the blood bank.
there is a process that the blood bank takes just the plasma from a donor to be used for fractions only.

It's futile to request that JWs do that much logical thinking about the blood issue. Selfishness and hypocrisy are the things they do best.

Where do we go when we die?
by bsand20 inmy best friend of 14 years and maid of honor passed away 2 months ago at age 32 after battling breast cancer for 6 years.
i haven't been the same since for many reasons.. as a jw kid i believed 144,000 chosen went to heaven, the good people would be resurrected including those who didn't have a chance to hear about jehovah, and the rest, which were of other religions and bad people, died and would cease to exist.
again, because i was a kid when i left, i never really understood the jw position on death and why they came to their conclusion.

As much as I'd like to believe otherwise, I have come to the conclusion that when we die we are just dead. No heaven, no hell, no afterlife of any kind. And I don't think it matters at all which ( if any) religion a person subscribes to. Every human being ends up in the grave....forever.

my parents gave my addess to the elders without asking me
by besunny inso my folks went to the meeting today and somehow i got brought up and they gave them my address so they can call on me because i'm inactive,i am upset about it because they didn't ask me first,i told my parents i wish they hadn't of done that without asking me first and my dad's response was are you not baptised?
and i said yes when i was 17 and i don't want to talk to anyone (i'm 51 now) and want to avoid any discussions that may cause me to lose my relationships with family that is still in,,so now i feel my successful fade will be jeapordized.

Another line you might use when the CO calls or drops by: 'Thanks for your concern, but I'm afraid I cannot meet with you. I have much more important things to be concerned with.'.

How to find joy in the ministry, according to one elder
by ohnightdivine inhe said that having a goal is the most important, since we do not want to waste our time and become depressed when going out in the ministry.. and what else could be better than setting a goal to, say, distribute xx number of magazines during that day?!.
in this way we could feel contented and joyful in service.. .
how profound!

There's only one worthwhile goal: Stop going to the meetings.

While science makes new and exciting discoveries every day, the JWs just continue to pump out the same old tired nonsense they have for decades. It's no wonder that most JW young people leave the religion as soon as they reach 18-21. It's like the Witnesses are stuck in a 1950s time warp. Nothing ever really changes. Even the so-called New Light is really just slightly altered versions that continue to make no sense.

Reconciling animals and suffering
by Pacopoolio inwe know that christians generally go through ridiculous mental voodoo to explain why a benevolent god allows human suffering, and none of it makes any sense, or is filled with bunk logic.
that's what happens when you try and retrofit a jewish "god is good and evil" religion into a benevolent religion.. .
one of the biggest "trips" to a jw/christian in continuing this line of thought is asking them why god would create animals simply to suffer and die, then, after they try to blame everything on adam (whose brain god supposedly created, and who put him into the exact situation that had an influence on that brain to cause him to sin).

I care about all living things, regardless whether they 'experience' pain or not. I'll take animals over humans any day of the week.

An Indictment against GOD , A blood sacrifice or a non blood sacrifice.Cain & Abel.
by smiddy ini would appreciate your thoughts on this question : why would the almighty god sacrifice one of his creations in blood letting to appease him ?.
does this make any sence at all ?
god is supposed to have created everything living , human and animals , and then he wants / expects a human to execute one of his creations as a sacrifice to him ?.

I kind of doubt that Jesus went around killing animals. If humans want to kill one another, fine. Just leave the animals out of it!

Just tell him: 'I am not avaiable for a visit. Please respect my privacy'. That ought to do it. If he gets pushy and asks again, just tell him the same thing once more. Offer no other explanations at all.
