I am very shy and easily intimidated, so I don't often express my opinion.

I don't think I could handle having others reject my opinions.

Did You Think "Jehovah" Was Responsible For Everything Good In Your Life?

i've heard all my life, that anytime something good happened, we should thank jehovah for doing it.

if something bad happened, like being attacked by the "demons", it was because a person didn't have the complete "suit of armor" from god.

i know many of the "friends" that credit jehovah god for giving them a sunny morning, a pay raise at work or an end to their cough and cold.....were you one of those that believed jehovah was behind everything that happened in your life?

I don't think "Jehovah" was responsible for anything that happened to me, good or bad. Life is what we make it. Of course, at times we have bad breaks, some more than others, but I don't think "Jehovah" or the "Devil" have anything to do with it.

Imagine a scenerio; two infants fall into a pool at a pool party. One is rescued while the other drowns. Was "Jehovah" blessing one and not the other?

I don't think so.

Anybody work in an IT help desk position? How stressful is it?

my boss is encouraging me to apply for a help desk position that has recently opened up at my place of work.

it would involve taking inbound calls from both customers and coworkers regarding our software products (i work for a textbook publisher, many of the books we publish come bundled with various cd-roms).. the job would be a significant pay increase from what i make now, which is the primary incentive.

however, the position is at a different location from where i currently work, and would likely triple my commute time.

Is this strictly a telephone support position? It would be good to be spelled off so you can do deskside support as well. I've seen too many fine help desk support techs burn out from stress within 2 years because they haven't been given other responsibilities or opportunities to get away from the phones. It's a great way to break into the IT field, but try to eventually move beyond phone support.
