  I Have Finally Sent My DA-Letter

  i finally did it!

  after 3-4 years of being inactive i wrote a da-letter and faxed it to the headquarters of the "christian congregation".

  i am planning to be more active in helping ex-jw and i have become a member of the newly founded "netzwerk sektenausstieg" (cult exit network) in germany.

  I just confronted a car full of dubs in the preaching work!

  yep, just got back from getting my morning coffee and they were across the street from my house talking to a lady that i believe is turning into a return visit.

  i was frantically looking for the un letter, found it and then approached the car as they were just getting back in.

  the old dub guy totally denied any un involvement and went into the speal about why the un and before that league of nations was so bad.

  Shamus, i especially want to say i am sorry to you for putting you in the spot that i did, for some reason i can relate to you but my problems are not yours you have enough of your own.

  Come now...

  You put me in no spot whatsoever. I sincerely hope that you follow through and speak to someone in real life about this. Don't slough this off as whining. That is absolutley not what you did. We all support one another, and anyone in my shoes would have cared enough to PM you, believe me.

  Take care, and don't feel the least bit sorry for one thing.

  Why Would Anyone Defend Jehovah's Witnesses??????????

  every so often, i will read on this board, how some people will defend and apologize for what jws do or believe in.....i just don't get it.

  XQ's exhibits trollish behavior imo.

  It could be the case, but I prefer to let XQ speak before even mentioning something like that. I seem to recall personally calling many people trolls who were not. It's easy to be mis-understood on the internet.

  Move away or face them?

  sometimes, the only way to forget about the witnesses and that religion is to move away and not see them anymore.

  but sometimes it's impossible to move, because of your job or family, so you're stuck to face them once in a while.

  i was just wondering if many of you moved away after leaving the jw's and if that helped you, or would you just stay where you are and face them?

  I recommend saying just one sentence to them when they call, when they knock on your door, when they bother you.

  "Leave me alone". Then close the door, hang up the phone, and that's it. No explanations, no attacks, nothing. No call display, no hiding, nothing. That is all they should ever hear from you. Leave me alone. And they will. And it will work. No worries about restraining orders, nothing.

  If you have problems down the road and the afformentioned steps do not work, then post a question how to really get rid of them. That will not happen, though. They will respect your wishes, and move on to more important things, like bickering over who is 'bad assosiation', and what brother or sister so and so said or did.

  about a year ago, i had purchased a book (new) called "in sheep's clothing".

  i had bought it for the sole purpose of learning to deal with my controlling, manipulative father.

  my mother became interested in the book, and i let her borrow it.

  If you had this problem in the past, you shouldn't have lent your mother anything. Stand up for yourself! Sounds like you're used to being bullied by your toxic family. I recommend therapy one on one, even if it's just a few visits. In Canada, it's FREE! Get it out, and get yourself away from this destructive behavior once and for all. You're being self-destructive without even knowing it.

  As for this, let it go. It's only $25.00, and getting upset and confronting your mother will only make the situation worse for you. Life has so much more waiting for you, and living your life free and happy is the best way to show those toxic to you that they have no control over you. Unfortunately, you are playing right into they're hands by getting upset.

  When my toxic family member starts beaking off about other family members, I simply state once and once only that I do not care to discuss things behind people's backs and I don't say things behind they're back that I can't say right to they're face, and that is the end of it. The response is quite shocking, but that's the way that I deal with it. I am in control, and I refuse to listen to nonsense.

  Trust me. Your toxic family is driving you crazy, and you can end it right now.

  i've been a bit lax in posting, life got really busy over the last while.

  i've had my own business that's been gaining contracts, but not quickly enough for mortgage payments and cat food.

  hehe so i took a 5 month temp job to supplement.
