Thanks dragon, that is one of my points. The other point is: For positive results- Don't use anger and hate to motivate....

Crossing Over
by kelsey007 inanger, hate and venting are parts of normal human emotion.
these are feelings that most all of us have experienced after having left the jws.
such forums as this one i am sure have helped many to cross over to getting beyond the jw experience.

Perry- you did not highjack a thread.
As for getting rid of the pain. I think that we will die with the pain. Getting beyond the pain is another issue. To me nothing positive is accomplished when acted out in anger and hate. The org took many good years from my life. Like many I had daydreams of doing ugly things to the org. Finally I got beyond those thoughts. I no konger dwell on the wasted years- it no longer consumes me. By getting to that point I feel no longer controlled by the WT. As long as I allowed it to linger the WT still was taking joy from my life.
I, like you, have no problem with marches and media attention directed to the WT and the GB. Hey. speak out. But on the other hand, IF my real objective is to aid victims and force positive change then I must get beyond the hate to be effective. That is my only point.

Anger, hate and venting are parts of normal human emotion. These are feelings that most all of us have experienced after having left the JWs. Such forums as this one I am sure have helped many to cross over to getting beyond the jw experience. Some I would hope have had understading friends and relatives who have allowed us to vent our emotions and help us release the pain we have inside.
The terrible acts of child abuse that has beceme well known on these forums has brought much of this pain, hurt and anger again to the fore. With the many years in the oraganization most lost family members and friend not to mention an entire way of life when we left the organization. This to me seems sometimes worse than having lost loved ones to death.
My question here is: What is the best way in dealing with the abuse issues we are hearing about so much here? What is the most effective way to force a change that will protect ALL children from exposure to preditors? Will getting in the face of the JW leaders have the positive impact we are hoping for? And if it did force a change at the WT in policy what of the millions of other abuse victims in other religions around the globe?

What about "Forbidden Truth" by a French author-
Guest 77- I am sure that they would rather not talk about how the good old white man kicked american indian butt to take over the land we now call the USA. You are proably right. In the years to come that will fall in with all the other paranoria stuff we would dismiss for fear of thinking outside the BOX (cable news box).

Anything in the news?
by kelsey007 ini scanned tv news channels till late last night and this am.
also checked the news web sites cnn, msnbc, fox and so forth.
has anything about the nyc march made national news?

Even as an ex-jw with a mother who is still very active- if I had not heard of silent lambs from here I would have never known of any of this. I know other ex-jws and jws who till this day knew nothing of the march in nyc or of silent lambs at all except from what I have told them.
Just checked todays New York Times. Found nothing in todays paper. The catholics made the news again inregards to their abuse problems but nothing in regards to the march at the WT.

"Were any of them Witnesses?"
by kenpodragon init was a typical night at the local kingdom hall.
people were coming in and visiting, looking for seats and laying down publications to mark where they would sit.
people were shaking hands, and the conversation was mixed.

Well done dragon! I take note also that in the year of 9-11 some 20,000 people died in India. Great tragedy. But when the US lost some 3,000 no one carried a prayer or thought for the 20,000 humans, men, women and children lost in India. No it was not terrorism. But is it only for the lives of terrorist victims that we should mourn and memorialize? I am certain that the surviving loved ones of the 20,000 lost in India were just as traumatized as the WTC victims families regardless the cause of deaths. I am equally certain that no organizations made the survivers wealthy from donations as was done for the WTC victims. I never remember Bush getting up in front of the world and calling for all nations to support an effort to aid those victims and ensure that better construction of buildings, advanced warning systems be put in place and good escape routes be designed for these poor people. In fact since 9-11 I have yet heard one cry from any American christian of any denomination bemoan the loss of so many.
Just as with the millions of non-jw abuse victims.

Bro. Overbeer,
All christianity is bastardized mythology. The god of the OT makes Sadam look very tame. Jesus, a god, born to a woman who never had sex? Died to save all mankind? Raised from the dead? And of course if you are mainstream christian you believe that god is jesus and that god came to earth and man killed him then he reaised himself from the dead. Then of course this loving god will allow wicked man to remain alive forever to be eternally burned in the lake of fire or hell or whatever. I do not know you or your personal beliefs- however, whatever they are they are yours by free choice. And I still will not call you or consider you a nutcase.

Overbeer- NEVER did I say that I believed that they controled god's people. I said that is what they believe.
By the way my mother has been a JW all her life and she is not a nutcase. I happen to respect her and love in spite of her religion. Your attitude, as expressed in your post, is why I believe that the fight is out of focus and will lose credibility.
Calling someone a nutcase because of thier beliefs is a very jwish sentiment. I know someone who really believes in ufos- I do not call or consider them a "nutcase" simply because I do not share their belief system.

Are they stealing the limelight:
Washington, D.C., authorities have made at least 500 arrests today as hundreds of protesters targeting a meeting of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank clashed with police on the rainy streets of the nation's capital. The protesters say unfair IMF policies benefit wealthier nations at the expense of developing ones, but the IMF says its policies help the poor.

It may be raining after all....
