You need to understand that to defend an evil act makes you culpable. Each time you do this, you add to your karmic burden. Some day, it will come back to you in spades. I suggest you stop defending the evil acts of the society if you don't want to share in their judgement.
i find it interesting that of all the horror stories i have read on this forum, it seems that women are the subject of the elders' abuse much more than men.
is it because the elders feel more comfortable beating up, excuse me, "counseling" women, or is it because we women are more open with our feelings?
personally, i was mainly the object of neglect.
Bullies, deep down, are usually insecure. Verbal abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse...it seems to merely be a matter of scale - same basic problem showing up in different ways. I have always suspected our old PO of being a wife abuser. She seemed scared of her shadow and he was a mysogynistic bully that very few of the sisters trusted.
i have read many horror stories here, of elders demanding "sister sickly with 10 children, i know you have been in a coma for 6 months, but surely you have time to report.
and, by the way, why haven't you been to a meeting?".

There were a few (very few) good elders I knew. They were loving and considerate, and were loved by almost everybody. Those, for some reason, didn't have a problem with sisters. The bad ones were always jumping on everything a sister said, to the point we avoided speaking to them at all for fear something we said would get us 'counseled'. Mysogynistic asses, every one. I've come to the conclusion they were intimidated by women and had to keep us 'beat down' for fear we'd try to take over.
My current motto: Only weak men are intimidated by strong women.
i just obtained a copy of one of the new releases from the summer jw district conventions, learn from the great teacher.
this book is oriented towards children, and frankly, is a stereotypical piece of propaganda from the "faithful and discreet slave".
in some ways the book is incredibly revealing, since it has to break down a number of ridiculous jw teachings into a form that even jw children can swallow, and when those teachings are put into simplest form their ridiculousness is evident to everyone but small children and stereotypically braindead jws.

Great. Demons. Just what the world needs...a whole generation of JW children who equate sex with 'making demons happy.' Can you see the healthy attitudes about sex they'll grow up with?? God that's sickening.
And after they get married like 'good little dubs', all that conditioning will magically disappear and they'll be able to have a healthy sex life. Ri-i-i-i-i-ight.

the public talk was on "loyalty"- ...speaker gave examples of loyalty in bible times...i.e: esau and jacob...esau sold his birthright for a bowl of stew...not loyal of him.

The WT does not care about their followers, about abused children, or anyone else. The WT cares about money and power and protecting its ability to get more.
The only thing that will get the WT's attention and possibly make it change it's moronic policies is
a) the government making them
b) the threat of losing money.
Therefore, I wholeheartedly support any and all who bring suit against them. In the memo of the check they have to write to pay, I suggest that they write "The screwin' we get for the screwin' we gave"

There's something about that test I wonder about.
I'm cynical, so I 'strongly disagreed' with every sentiment that corporations are good guys who should be trusted to do the right thing...the thing is, I don't exactly trust everybody else to do the right thing, either, I just trust corporations even less because they have more money and resources to bend the rules and get away with it (or outright change the rules, now that BushCo is in charge). That doesn't mean I'm idealistically warm and fuzzy.
