  i just got some news and am still shaking.

  my sister died today.

  i hardly knew her .

  Our dog died. :(

  our 15 year old dog died this afternoon..............with assistance from a veterinarian friend of rachel's (princess).

  she was old, sick, and with multiple health issues.

  it was a really hard decision, but the vet really helped ease my mind, by assuring me it was time.

  i ran across this excerpt a long while ago from the world's last night, an essay by cs lewis about the apocalypse.

  in it lewis gives a very interesting perspective on the concept of god's judgement.

  it's very different from what jws and many christians (or other religions) think about judgement.

  thx all for answering.

  thinking back, i thought "cocoon" was a pretty spiritual movie. i had just had a death in my family and when i saw it i thought that's how things should be.

  i am embarrassed. i like to think that i know movies pretty well, but i never heard of "the life of brian". can someone fill me in? when was it out? who was in it?

  gmahler, that is a bizarre story. i just can't imagine. in my cong. the platter was passed containing all the crackers already broken. of course they were all returned minus possibly a crumb or two.

  thx to all who have replied. it seems they were l) very spiritual and met the criteria of being a "Christian", or 2) demented, or 3)not very nice.

  thx jgnat -- i too remember those days when the nwt was in a zillion volumes.

  mouthy/grace -- good to see you. i hope i can get to that pa meeting someday. for those "ex" anointed that attend, do they now acknowledge that there is just "one" class? just curious.

  maybe those who were "of the anointed" and of the spiritual kind, really just knew their own hearts and had/have that special relationship with the Lord.

  just read your post. amazing.

  but it just fuels my question. who are these people? what is the mechanism by which they become "anointed"? are they sincere, nuts, delusional, ambitious, ......... or what??

  the two i first mentioned seemed to be very spiritual, albeit very old, but what about the others?
