by rory-ks innope, bungi bill's interesting statement from this post didn't take, so i'll start its own.. from my own experience, i hated the field ministry.
it might just be because of the kind of character i am, whatever, i never was able to overcome that feeling of dread every time i went door-to-door.
i felt aware of how much people disliked having strangers cold-calling trying to sell them something.

The zeal has gone out of the preaching work , their is no more urgency to the work.
by smiddy inthis is an observation i have made .
yesterday a group of jw`s entered the street where i live , i`m at the end of a street and they stood around and obviously joked and mucked around for about 10 minutes as a group opposite my house .their were 3 teenage girls ,1 teenage boy , and 3 older men .
this was about 10:30 am on a saturday.

At least the older guy wasn't working with one of the young sisters. I've seen where the servant diched his wife to work a street with a pretty 20-something sister.

Pioneering: How the GB shamelessly capitalizes on members' worldly desire for prominence.
by Island Man inthe bible likens the preaching work to a sacrifice of praise - praise to god.
pioneering is also a sacrifice that involves praise.
it's the sacrifice of a specified number of hours that wins you the praise of men.. when you really analyze the psychology of pioneering it is apparent that the praise of men or prominence before men is at the heart of it.

Geesh, the more you dig, the more hypocrisy you will find with the WT or whatever other cover corporation they are using to benefit from. I'm not surprised if they did have their hand out to receive money from United Way or the Red Cross, but the R&F is made to feel guilty if we donate to United Way through work or use the pool at the YMCA after a long day at work. "For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven..."

Patterson New York JW Tourist Destination
by Pete Zahut ini saw a photo on facebook of a jw couple i know, apparently you can now get your photo taken with the stars of the jw animated children's videos, at patterson.
i've tried to share it here but it isn't showing up.. basically, you stand in different cartoon scenes of the door to door activity, holding a bookbag and the hand of one of the children's characters from the viedo.
the houses are pastel colored, the cartoon brothers are wearing brightly colored shirts and ties , no jackets.

by new hope and happiness inthete are a lot of derocatory comments sbout witnesses and cleaning windows.
as a former window cleaner i can say:-.
a. i started my self employment at 17.. b. i built the round with my own initiative.. c. i was soon making 4 times the average hourly wage.. d. i was afraid of heights, but as the round grew i employed 2 people.. e. it exspanded to gardening painting and decorating ect, ect,.

No disrespect to you and other self-starters like yourself is intended. I think that the term window washer is meant to represent a class of person with zero formal training, education or motivation to better themselves. These people have bought into the fairy-tale that the can fritter away their youth pioneering at the expense of their middle-age future trapped in a physically taxing, menial job content because the end is just around the corner.
