That would be cool. I am headed out there with my boyfriend and his friend. I have to say though, we are pretty boring. We pretty much just stick to gambling and drinking. And not very much drinking.

We are all in are 20s' and act like we are in our 40s.. LOL

The Truman Show reminds me of being a JW

if not rent it, it is a great movie.. the org created a world for us just like that in the movie.

The org created a world for us just like that in the Movie. What was true to Jim Carey is what they allowed him to see. Until he saw his father (who was supposedly dead) he had no need or desire to go outside the world they created for him.

Everyone, you have to see this movie if you haven't already. For those of you who seen it I would love to hear your comments.

I could go on and on about this movie and make comparisons, but I want to hear what you all have to say about it.

Watchtower logical fallacies

i believe that in order to effectively immunize a person against the disease of watchtowerism, it is necessary to bring them to a full, conscious understanding of their tactics.

i am currently working on a document for my son that shows how the society uses faulty logic to make their points.

the document lists several common logical fallacies and then provides examples from the societys teachings.

I admire so many of you who really take the time to do such deep research. It is encouraging me to do the same.

Born a JW I never bothered to question anything. Honestly I never thought to question anything.

What they said was 100% true.

I am realizing now that I need to look a little deeper and ask more questions.

I've said this before: Everything I knew came straight from Watchtowers, Awakes, and other WTBTS publications.

Like many, I never researched anything outside the Org.

Selfish Mates

can somebody please help me with my problem?

i have this boyfriend, who is on probation for drugs and kicking the crap out of one of his friends.

he drug me down to kc with him & during that time my car broke down and so i have been sitting at his gay fathers house for 8 months without a car & job.

Everyone is giving you great advice here. You should really think about it.

Unfortunately most women who are abused are stuck. They are stuck in this dysfunctional mindset that does not allow them to leave.

You have to believe that you are a real person who deserves true happiness in your life.

This guy is obviously bad for you. He doesn't care enough about himself to care about you in the way you deserve.

You have to care about yourself before you care about other people.

Help yourself before anybody else. This is not selfish it is the right thing to do.

What do you have to gain by staying with this guy? More than likely he will never change. You cannot change him just as we cannot change you.

You have to make the change yourself. As scary as it might be you need to do it. Give yourself a chance in life. You do not deserve this abuse.

All we can do is give you advice and hope and pray you take it. But ultimately it is up to you to fix your situation.

Where do the Gov Body get buried?

just curious here.... where do the governing body and other senior bethelite members in brooklyn get buried when they die?

is there a central cemetery where they all get buried/cremated?

who pays for the funeral expenses?.

I Need Advice - Brother being DF'd tonight!

i just got a call from my baby brother.

they will be announcing that he has been df'd tonight at the hall.

he was crying, he has told me that the rest of the family has already started to shun him.

JWs Advertising on TV now

we were just watching er rerun episodes back to back...after the second episode finished chachasmum and i saw an advertisement for the jws.

it started out showing a teenage girl on the computer like she was in a chat room...and it was showing her write love notes to someone whom she thought might be a teenage boy...and a voice over said something like...parents protect your children...then it showed an old, fat man with a bottle of beer, sitting back typing on the computer...then all of a sudden it said, "teach your children knowledge, wisdom and thinking ability"...it caught my ear and i looked closer at the bottom of the screen it read: christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses...and gave a 1-800 number.

looks like they are stealing the mormons' pitch.

I think for now you should just be supportive of your brother. the truth about the troof is ovewhelming. he is already ovewhelmed with being Df'd.

Wait a while before you talk to him about the "troof"...
