I really enjoyed reading your poem. It is exactly how I think and feel. Though my family is not shunning me I do wonder what my life would be like if I was never born into the JW life.
You said it all beautifully!!!

for anyone who knows me, i have always been a very strong support for women's right to do as they please in life, but today we had a very interesting discussion about this issue>.
this is to me one area where i wonder is it really the best thing to do, not so much because of how we in the west perhaps view women in positions and power, but how women are often times viewed by those that we maybe at war with.
culturally as men we have been conditioned to protect the woman- in fact in almost all cultures that i can think of that basic mindset is held by most men i would dare say-.
If a female feels that she is qualified to serve in any facet of the armed forces, the police, firefighters, or as Prime Minister, so be it. Many women have proven themselves to be as strong as any man could be.And I am talking about mentally as well as emotionally.
If a woman wants to , go for it! But if they do change the tests around like JT says then I don't think that is right.
Both Men and Women should take the same exact test!!!
Generally men are physically stronger than women.
Generally women are more sensative than men.
There are no doubt more women that couldn't handle this task than there are men wo can't, but that doesn't mean women shouldn't be allowed to join.
Personally, I would never want to go into combat. I am perfectly happy letting my boytoy protect me.
last night when i got home from work low and behold my mother-in-law you know the one who wrote me "the letter" was sitting in my living room eating my food going over my wifes talk with her .
i went in my room took off my work clothes and came out and told her i have a problem with this.
you told me you could no longer talk or eat or socialize with me so why are you here in my home?
"If I am in your home to see my grandchildren and daughter I will give you respect:; But I will not be able to socialize with you nor eat with you again. Your co-operation in this will certainly be appreciated. And if you would rather that I not come to your home I will certainly understand that also and will comply accordingly in which they can come see me. "
Yesterdays Child,
I posted part of the letter your mother-In-law wrote to you above.
I was first going to say you should have told her she is not welcome in your home a long time ago, when you first got the letter. After thinking about it and reading how others responded to you I must say you were in your own rights to kick your Mother-In-law out.
I personally would not have the "balls" (literally) to do it. I am proud of you. Why should you dance around her feelings! She obviously doesn't care about yours. The others are right, how could she think in her right "Christian mind" that it would be ok for her to come into your home like it is no big deal and shun you?
Yes she gave you the opportunity to tell her she is not welcome and you took it. She didn't say when or even how to respond to her letter. If she or your wife had any common courtesy they would have asked you before she came over to you house just to make sure it would be all right with you.
All that said, I do feel very bad for you. I hope you work things out with your wife soon. Take care.
Sandy
this morning they announce to the bethel family that brother milton
henschel passed away on
in the full time service for 69 years and was the 5th president.
Will he go back in time and be resurected in 1975? Only to live his wasted life over and over again..
LOL, THAT IS FUNNY!!!
yesterday, my wife and i got together with my brother and his wife for dinner.
they began talking about how they never thought they'd still be here in this system of things.they complained that the elders were often jerks and unfair.
they talked about how they hoped their disfellowshipped daughter would soon get reinstated.
``a suggestion;" usually relating to some issue involving behavior; the word ``suggestion" was widely interpreted in dubland as ``really a command;'' i.e. because the elders have no scriptural basis whatsover to compel you to shave your beard, shorten the length of your hair or increase the length of your skirt, good little dubbies would be well advised to take their ``suggestion" as a command -- or no ``privileges" of pioneering, microphone toting, etc. would be forthcoming.
How can they dictate all this? Why did we listen to it all? I can understand we need to look clean and presentable but what is the big deal if a brother has a beard or my skirt is a little above the knee or I have two wholes in my ear?
I never really thought about all that stuff. Like most of you I guess I just followed the "rules".
No they are not "Rules" excuse me, they are suggestions. The is a big difference.
So if it is a suggestion how can they not allow a brother to hold privileges if he decides not to take the "society's" "suggestion" and he keeps a beared?
Has anybody ever tried to go on the stage or carry the microphones sporting a beared? That would be a site to see. I would go to a meeting just to see that!

Hey Minimus I really enjoy reading your posts. You always make me think.
I am not sure though what you and your brother mean when you say "reading between the lines" Maybe I am a little dense today.
Please elaborate.
Are you DF'd or DA'd? Do your brother and sis-inlaw know you are on this site?
Nosy girl,
Sandy
my heart goes out to every child who has a parent fighting in this war, be they american, british, aussie or iraqi- especially the ones too young to realize exactly where dad or mom is at.
they just know that everyone is so upset and the news is talking about and showing pictures of soldiers who were killed or were captured that are dressed just like dad or mom was the last time they saw them.
i can picture a little one toddling over to the tv touching the screen and saying, "daddy.
Sevonofnine I am sorry to hear your friends are there. I hope for their safe return. My best friend's brother is there as well.
I am in support of the war just for the plain fact that Sadaam really needs to be removed from power. I know many say it is none of our business but I am still glad we are making it our business. At least now these people are going to have a chance to have a better government.
I think your friends should be proud that they are fighting for the freedom of others.
It is hard to stay positive when we see murdered innocent people. We start to think is it worth it? I know it is very sad that people are dying, it is not my wish, but in the long run so many more people are going to benefit. Their deaths will not be in vain.
I do not want to debate anyone, because honestly I am not good at it.
I hope for a peaceful resolution soon.
I think The Hours should have won even though it was a chick flick.
I do not know much about Michael Moore. I do not like what he said up there. There is a time and a place for everything. I don't think that was the place.
i've been off-line for a bit, broken what-not in the computer, just got back on so i thought i'd tell you what happened yesterday.elder d rang to ask if 'we' could visit, ok says i, the other is the old ms who i studied with.
meantime i'd got my file on un/wts ready(it's been ready for ages) and primed husband to witness the entertainment.this went on for about an hour and a half.i was utterly in control of myself and the entire interrogation(me of them).neither of them would look at any of my evidence of the wt's blasphemous hypocrisy, so i read it out to them,(you come to my house so i'm going to tell you this) they tried to wriggle their way out but i wanted them to admit their weakness.
i really let them have it.they parried i thrusted.
when they call you again ,ask them have they done the research on the points you brought up . when they say no . tell them only to call you when they have looked up all the facts. till then they are speaking presumptuosly in the name of god. when you know what you are talking about then we can talk. Have nice day.
<------- (make sure you have that tone in your voice when they call you) LOL
I absolutely love that!!! LOL I wish I could be as brave as all of you. Someday......... I'm getting there.
.
i recall when roman polanski molested (raped) a 13 year old girl..... now he wins an oscar....something is wrong...
Roman Polanski seems to have a thing, just like R.Kelly for girls....not young women, girls. As suggested, invite him over and let him hang with your teenage daughter or sister. GREAT QUESTION!!! SOMETHING FOR FATHERS TO REALLY THINK ABOUT!
A lot of Men seem to stick up for abusers in my opinion. They do not understand the hurt that comes about after abusing a child. The after effects are so severe and it is the hardest thing in the world to recover from, emotionally that is. It takes years to recover and you never completely recover.
Abusers are selfish people and many get off on the power they hold over young children or young girls. The power gives the abuser sexual pleasure. They are sick and when they fail to admit to this and then run from their punishmnet they should not be honored not even the work they do should be. They are lower than dogs to me.
I have so many thoughts on this subject I cannot even begin to put them into words the way I would like to. I am so hurt and dissappointed in the way many men and some women view sexual abuse of children. Many seem to disregard it like it is no big deal. And when you honor such people who are known abusers it is just sick! Yes maybe this movie is good, ok maybe it is the greatest peace of filmwork on earth! SO WHAT!!! This man should have not been nominated let alone won!
Criminals who do not truly repent and change their ways should have no place in society!
I am not a man hater, but sometimes it seems that there are more bad men out there than good; Inside and outside the org. That makes it much more harder for us to find truly decent men.
