i've ordered magic of reality but have a feeling it's the wrong book.

Since 1/4/2012Dawkins's Magic of Reality is a super book! Give it your kids with confidence - and do read it yourself. This guy is a splendid writer and scientist.
For all those of you who think you didn't really grasp what scientific enquiry was all about whilst you were at school, this is the book to get.
Readership age range? 9 to 90, I'd say.

Well Randy, from the day I first went to your website (I was Congregation Secretary and CBSC) at the time, I knew then you were a giant among men.
All they know is "Where else can we go" - if he is not "one of us" he is evil apostate spawn of the devil - very sad really. That said, tehre are many wonderful JWs. They are just so sadly mislead. I remain a JW , I just have my bullshit deflectors set to maximum.

Bullet list of major (recent) changes
by RN init is with great interest that i recently read ceders article on the decline of the wts.
his article along with many of the comments really drives home just how many major changes there have been in a fairly short peroid of time.. somewhere in the recent past i could swear that someone had posted a bullet list of major changes with the corresponding year.
when i saw this (or something like it) my first thought was that this simple list made it all the more shocking; and since i have searched and cannot find anything like it.. so i dug around and started one of my own, please feel free to add/corrects events.

I think it is ironic (not totally sure if that is the correct word) but in the Middle Ages the printing press saw a decline in the power and prestige of the Roman Catholic Church.
I have consistently said in this forum since I joined in 2003, that the internet will prove (when history is written) to be a huge nail in the coffin (not necessarily the total demise) of the WTBTS.
It is all about control - control of information, and the Internet is all about free flow of information.
Even the WTBTS has started using it more - downloads of WTs, etc. As the OP -Metatron has pointed out - it totally has changed publishing/printing in general - so even magazines/periodicals/newspapers (even porn) are struggling. We are in a brave new world. Watch this space

They can survive for a long time. They will have to sell real estate and live off that - but slowly -but surely - it will happen. UNLESS ------ they stop being a publishing organization -and become a construction organization- built off free/cheap labor. It may buy them another 30 years or more.
