I remember that original movie "The Blob" starring Steve McQueen when he was first starting out in movies. A classic sci-fi. It kinda scared me since I was young.

When I was a child, my dad (a non jw) taught me about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. I never saw Santa or the Bunny but on Christmas and Easter they always made their presence known by leaving me presents and candy!
Also when I was a child, my mom (an uber jw) taught me about god and jesus. I never saw god or jesus but on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday they made their presence known by giving us meetings to attend at the KH!

When calculating all those "dates" (wink, wink) which calendar should be used? The jewish 360 day calendar or the Gregorian 365.25 day?
I know, add a month here and there to compensate for the difference but still trying to establish a definite date over 2,600 years ago using "historical" records from ancient archives knowing how biased and how some love to embellish the facts?---I don't think so!

by HiddenPimo ini saw this mentioned on reddit but no link - i found the article form this weeks bible study..... in the “congregation bible study” part of the meeting this week there was a part that said and i quote: “only jehovah god and his son can receive someone into the heavenly kingdom or the paradise on earth under that kingdom.
we should diligently cultivate friendship with them by using what material riches we have in supporting kingdom interests”.

When the wt had products to sell, namely printed literature, and millions of "publishers" (publishers=sales persons--lol) out regularly selling their products, money was not as big an issue as it is today! Sure the wt can buy and sell real estate but that is not the same as a steady monthly income from millions of sales persons selling literature. So they gotta ask for cash and of course by tying it to our relationship to jehober and jesus it's now a "sacred" privilege to donate!
