  today i added to my blog pages 4-6 of the 13-page submission by a doctor of psychology that is a watchtower appointed elder.

  he had ideas about elder involvement with jehovahs witnesses suffering mental illness, and particularly victims of child abuse, and thought it best to share these with watchtower.

  i've had the book for well over a year, the bearing thorough witness publication, but like most wt books, i didn't bother to really look at it until time for it to be used in the congregation bible study.

  another thread mentioned this before how they're capitalizing the g on the governing body.

  however, they don't provide the same treatment for the same title when referring to those in the bible they label as the governing body.

  Wanted to get reinstated... Almost ready to give up

  i'd like to hear from anyone who was disfellowshipped but fully intended to go back as soon as possible and how that worked out or didn't.

  i'd like to hear how soon you went back to meetings, how many letters requesting reinstatement you wrote, how you were treated, and how long it took you to get bitter and jaded.... or in the off chance you had a positive experience, what exactly happened.. really struggling here... thanks!.

  i got my own fair share of mental problems.

  it goes without saying that a bunch of us on this forum are misfits and freaks.

  I've read this forum fairly regularly for 8 or 9 years. Got into a few long discussions but don't anymore since I don't see much point in it. Still a JW (inactive now though). Posted here while an elder and still haven't gone over to the dark side. Not completely anyway . . . .

  Need help fact checking public talk at the DC

  i have taken the time to transcribe part of the public talk given at the dc.

  it was interesting because it basically said the witnesses used the bible to fortell the fall of the axis powers in wwii.

  now when i first heard the speaker say it - my ears perked up.

  Might be more related to return of League in the form of the UN, which would not happen if Axis won? UN actually started during war if I recall correctly.

  Recent Example of Molestation Policy

  in the 80's a very righteous elder in our congregation was caught molesting his 2 stepdaughters.

  he was df'd.

  within 5 years he was 60 miles down the road serving as an elder in another congregation.
