Thanks all now I'm leaving
by wozadummy indue to funkyderek i have come to the decision to leave this board.
when i posted on the current gay thread in a way that i thought would stimulate thinking and lighten up the seriosness of the thread and have a laugh, he and others put me down publically labelling me.
so i find it difficult now to continue posting knowing that someone has influenced others into thinking that i'm not worthy of being here because my phrasing and spelling is bad and that i'm apparently a "hyporite".

when my grandmother died I could only send the cheaper flowers I said to God I so much wanted to send some thing special for my Grandmother. Then a few days later I received calls from my family telling me that the beautiful blanket of roses I sent were buried with my Grandmother .

About baptism

Theres a lady where my daughter works and she has never been baptized . She said she is a JW. She smokes and sleeps with her boyfriends. She told my daughter I cant believe you left the truth. She said when she gets older much older she will get baptized.

MOTIVATION

did you ever turn to motivational aids such as neuro linguistic programming?
or were you solely motivated by the prize of everlasting life and the regular dose of watchtower and awake?

I am sorry I sure got off the topic. I got motivated by Calvary Chapel churchs . They really teach the bible and chapter by chapter verse by verse. I have a close personel relationship with Jesus Christ. I got baptized with them to erase the JW one . Made me feel a lot better

I guess I wasnt in all the way. I had so called worldly friends that no way was I going to give up. My worldly friends morals were higher than the JWS. I also watched bewitched on TV. There were so many things that they kept secret from me. I knew nothing about the blood or disfellowshipping. This was before 1975. So when that prophecy was wrong I did go to meetings anyway because I made a lot of friends I liked. Then I moved 90 miles away so I dropped out but never told my old friends. So I would go visit them and never talked about anything about religion. Whats I kept that up with one JW friend til a couple years ago when I called her and forgot and started talking about a birthday party my friends gave me. The next time I called her she said the elders told her not to talk to me any more. She never knew I left in 1978. So then I sent her info on the UN and just recently I sent her all about the molestation of children. I printed instead of writing and no return address I hope she opens it and reads it. Back in the 70's we used to talk about where is the love and is this really God's people. we had doubts but shes hung in there all these years. Go figure

Could someone shed light on John 15:26,27?

27and you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.. though i am not trinitarian at this point, this verse seems to add some thinking in that direction to me.
jesus saying that the 'helper' comes from the father, but also that he, jesus, would send it.

1John 5:7 witness bible says there are three witness bears The real bible says for there are three that bear record in heaven, the father,the word, and the holy ghost; and these three are one. holy spirit is a person not a force. acts 5:3,4 gives an account of Ananias lying to the holy spirit ananias was told you have not lied to men ,but to God.

Violence disguised as comedy

it has a "teacher" in front of a 3 student class.
the teacher says that when he asks a question everyone should put up their hand.

The reason I liked Archie Bunker was I had inlaws like Archie. I hoped they would see their selves and be ashamed but alas No they never changed . They lived on the east coast and we had moved to Ca.. They were one of the reasons I wanted to move. But they came to visit and were very upset we were living in a Japanese neighborhood plus my kids had japanese friends, black friends,and mexican friends. We had a few arguments about it. I am so sorry for them they never changed. Archie was a better man he didnt beat his wife like my father in law would. Not around me tho. I would have called the police if he had.

Feeding the Homeless
by purplesofa inone day this week, my daughter volunteered to feed and serve the homeless.
every wednesday at a certain shelter the homeless are fed with business people in the community.
the ones that can pay $3 a plate and if you cannot pay all that is asked is that you clear off your dirty dishes, etc.. i found this combination a bit odd.

Bless your daughter and I understand what you are saying. The witnesses forget the story of the good samaritan. I think thats wonderful for a young girl to care about the needy people.
