Oh. Oh Gawd. Well, I should clear out the cookies of my laptop then. I know that alcohol was given as a local needs part in my congregation but I don't think that was a 'marking' talk. But anyway, I think that the Elders in my Cong. are actually one of the better "elders" that I have came into contact with. A little cold, yes, but I do like the way they handle things. My problem is the Org.

do they announce it?
i have expressed doubt last year about the org, but i still have responsibilities within the kh.

Sir82, I have done all those things, except dating an unbeliever, due to the fact that I do not want to explain my beliefs to her, and that is just too risky. I thought "obscene language" was a DF' offense though?

Do the WTS actually destroy all of your records if requested?
by Thoughtless inhello, sorry for the multiple posts, but this has also been a question of mine to ask.. .
does the wts actually destroy your files if you request them to after you get df'd?
i honestly do not believe so, yet i feel as if you cannot call them on their bs if you do.

I mean, if you get your files destroyed and if you "go back to your vomit" per se, would that require another baptism? Or would they magically have your publisher's card conveniently between the mush of their Shepard's book and porn magazines (you know, just below the pith of their own egotism)? If I do DA or get DF'd, I am kind of naturally paranoid, so I want my stuff destroyed. Everything. Not a trace.

DD,
I am SO lucky that I haven't gotten hit yet. But I don't really trust anyone, so I play a mental game of chess and learning who to push in and who to keep away. I told one brother who is a Ivy League Grad who happens to be an Elder my doubts, but was very very nonspecific. But this was at a time in which I knew less, and my doubts were just growing. I know substantially more, enough to actually get DF'd if called into question, but I don't believe in really pushing my beliefs upon others. I think if I do choose to DA it will be extremely short, because I believe if you are too weak to question, then perhaps you don't deserve Christ or even the right to live anyway. On the other hand, I do respect people who do share their beliefs, mainly due to the premise of Plato's Cave.

VIOLIA, A WHOLE CONGREGATION COULD BE MARKED? HWAT? I have never heard such a thing.
IOWN, thanks for the compliment. I had never experienced a "marking" talk, I think? My brother had just got removed as an unbaptized publisher, but that is just it. I think he is reinstated. I think the fact that I am an intellectual, a lot of people have their hopes high for me, but a lot of people have their eyes out for me. I don't know, but I think the more they find out my interests (passed JW acceptable music) and my interests into pop culture and philosophy, I am going to get in serious trouble. Just livin' life with my hat's brim kept low.

Yeah, this has been a question that has been on my mind for a while, but how do one know if he has been "marked" by the congregation? Do they announce it? Also, is there a way to get out of it? I have expressed doubt last year about the Org, but I still have responsibilities within the KH. I don't think I was marked as "bad association" due to the fact that a) I didn't share my doubts with anyone INSIDE the congregation b) I don't really socialize. Help pl0x (please).

Dualism in new WT theology?
by Thoughtless ini am not the most "deep" wt student, and i am trying to beef up on wt theology so i can reassess my belief system and prove to myself that what i am planning to do is the right thing.
but what i lack in wt theology knowledge, i make up in some philosophical knowledge.
wt theology teaches a purely physicalist standpoint, in which our soul is limited to our bodies, no spirit.

Yeah, I am going to do more research on this. I mean, despite Greco-Roman and Babylonian influences, it just seems inevitable that dualism is a Biblical "truth".

Religious Hypocrisy Condemned - WT Study Article week of July 8-14, 2013
by Oubliette inoh, the irony!
the attitude and conduct of true christians stand in sharp contrast with the mere outward show of godly devotion of those whose worship is often no more than a hypocritical ploy.
some religious leaders have become wealthy by defrauding their flocks, using much of the money thus obtained to acquire expensive homes and automobiles.

Eh, always knew something was fishy about the old "system" of the GB, especially due to the fact that Russell died with a Pyramid headstone on Oct. 31st. Perhaps that was God giving us a clue, perhaps I was too blind to see it. Honestly, though, I have nothing to say about the moral integrity of the GB today, just the doctrinal integrity of them (which does kind of convert to a type of moral integrity I guess). I am hoping for another "Ray Franz" expose of the society. Or perhaps like a lot of still active JWs, one is too afraid to speak up due to his appointment.

From what I heard, it is like a "cloud" in which Jehovah puts your essence in his memory, and then just recreates you or something. I heard a brother say it from a platform once, at the time I just bought it, but eh.
