I actually used the sandwich analogy to a JW last week - he said "yeah, but not all at one - that does make sense!".
JWs have in in-built in them that everything that comes down from the FDS is A)true and B)good. And that any thought that is against the *current teachings* from the FDS is A)false and B)Bad, even thoughts and reasonings of their own, even things they see with their own eyes.

July 15 Watchtower article on Blood
by XBEHERE inin the 7/15 wt i dont recall the exact page, i dont have the magazine here at work but there is a chart that lists blood, what components are up to you and which ones are not allowed at all.
anyway its very odd because they list which ones christians should avoid from left to right, i.e.
red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, etc.

My sad start to the day.
by Lehaa into all you animal lovers out there.. i awoke this morning to find that my dog had passed away during the night.. he was a golden retriever cross and the baby of the family.
he loved the kids and would lie down so my 2 year old could sit and lie on him.. he dug out of the back yard and got into my gardening stuff.
he ate half a box of snail bait.. i'm feeling really guilty, sould not have left it out.

I'm so so sorry that happened, I totally identify cos although my dog didn't ever do *exactly* that, it's the sort of thing that easily could've happened to him (he was always into everything), so don't blame yourself.

I faded halfway then came out all at once for the rest. I was never baptised - kind of felt "why do I need to when I was raised in it and it seemingly only takes a short time of studying?" - so I suppose I'm not an *actual* apostate. But I do a fairly good impression of one! :D

If you had the choice ,when you became a jw,,,,,,,
by kls inwould you have been better off being born in to it or have been better off being recruited as an adult .
.
what are the pros and cons of both.

I think people who are recruited are recruited for a reason - disappointed with mainstream religion etc, or otherwise vulnerable. So they might actually find it harder to wake up than people who as kids missed out on all the fun stuff kids should get to do. Also people recruited as adults might not have been there during several flip-flops like people raised in it, so they won't see the cracks - new converts don't know how it used to be before they joined.
I was a toddler when my mum joined them - too young to know better. -

i must say, having 1gb of space for free is quite 'wierd'.
the hotmail account i have hovers on the 80% full mark (mainly from spam) and is to all purposes unusable.

JW Flood Cartoon?
by glitter inyears ago (mid/late-90's) there was a documentary about jws on british tv and in part of it they showed a snippet from (presumably) a wt *cartoon* about noah's flood *pointedly* showing a mother and child drowning.. .
*was* this definitely a jw cartoon or was it just from another source and used as an example?
where can i get hold of a copy?.

I know... ugh. The artwork in the cartoon was nowhere as sophisticated, it was similar to 70's Hanna-Barbera animation.

I remember thinking it was disgusting them showing a woman trying to hold her kid's head above water just to put the fear of God (hehe) into little kids.
