  I'm not sure if you're having a go at me here personally for having been a pioneer, or the (b)org, however that was only the foreward so to speak I scanned, for those interested, and maybe reminisce, a little.

  Incidently, I never used a fat tri-coloured pen, I had 3 pens of different colours, and I had as I recall a difererent colour for a different reason. Kinda like my own code. Incidently, i used a similar tack in College later in life.

  The book wasn't available for you to buy, it was only given to pioneers upon the completion of the course which consisted of 20 x 3 hour sessions. Motivational yes, Low skill, I don't think so.

  You had a problem with jealousy based on the ownership of PENS? Or for those showing zeal? I'm not ashamed of having shown zeal for something I had believed to be the "Truth" Are you ashamed?

  As for the contents, it went into quite a lot of detail actually, on how to espouse the (b)orgs doctrines as to best benefit (suck in) the householder.

  They're not STUPID Flip, just as Ray Franz isn't stupid. They are just wrong. And I'm glad you too worked that out.

  I don't know TS2, I kinda think once we're dead we're dead and that's it, but, I remember what King Solomon was supposed to have said on his death bed some 3,000 years ago. Whether you beilieve them to be true is another matter!

  Australian of the Year named

  Child health researcher Professor Fiona Stanley has been named Australian of the Year for 2003, while tennis champion Lleyton Hewitt is Young Australian of the Year.

  Prime Minister John Howard also announced Bruce Campbell, 71, founder and chairman of the Year of the Outback, as Senior Australian of the Year.

  Local Hero of the Year is Brian Parry, 60, from Shoalhaven on the NSW south coast, for his services during the 2001/02 bushfires.

  The announcements were made in Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.

  Prof Stanley, from Perth, is the founding director of the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, and a professor of Paediatrics at the University of Western Australia.

  She is also the CEO and director of the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth.

  Prof Stanley studies the causes and prevention of birth defects and major neurological disorders, particularly cerebral palsies, and patterns of maternal and child health in Aboriginal and other populations.

  Others in contention for the award this year were:

  * Moira Kelly, a Victorian who has travelled the world helping children from the Third world and war-torn countries receive much needed medical assistance;

  * Father Christopher Riley, the finalist from New South Wales, has helped an estimated 40,000 children with his Youth Off The Streets program;

  * Singer and songwriter Ted Egan from the Northern Territory was nominated for the top award for his contribution to bridging Aboriginal and other culture over 50 years;

  * Professor Frank Fenner, a distinguished microbiologist renowned for the worldwide eradication of smallpox, from the ACT;

  * Celebrated speech pathologist Dimity Dornan of Queensland;

  * The developer of the Adelaide Centre for Spinal Research Professor Barrie Vernon-Roberts and;

  * Psycho-geriatrician Dr John Tooth of Tasmania.

  Tennis player Pat Rafter was last year's Australian of the Year.

  most kh/ah are built with free labour and the loan for the hall comes from the society, which the cong then repays - hence the question.

  an article appeared in last thursdays advertiser newspaper over here in south australia regarding a court case where a current jehovah's witness (tm) sued a farmer and the adelaide congregation of jehovahs witnesses for injuries he sustained during a 'house-to-house' visit.. sorry i haven't got time to reproduce the whole 3/4-page article so i'll just paraphrase it.

  if any aussies want to see it just go to your state library and they'd have it there.

  Yeh good point ED, but you know what, I have a feeling this guy wanted out anyway, and suing his cong. is going to get him real attitude, he'll start getting shunned now for daring to take the Cong. to court.

  If he is still attending meetings that is, that happened way back in July 2001 don't forget, hey he's probably in thid Forum...hehehehe
